I think Kakashi has his eye on Ayame. Kurenai isn't taken anymore. She's probably already on the lookout for a new husband. And if Shikamaru is not willing to step in for Asuma than who better than someone who killed most of his own clan? That just screams fatherhood.

I'd say he'd pick any of the key characters from damn near all of the filler plotlines. They pose as men, effeminate, though they may be, and about 3 episodes into it, BAM (like it's any big surprise) it's a chick! Well, that'd probably blow Itacih's mind, and he'd go crazy after about 3 or 4 filler boy/girlfriends.
