Cruz only said he was taken to a hospital to heal an injurie. Hospitals are for everyone, therefore I doubt Mengroze had any affiliation with the Resistance. He was just doing his job, wich is treating his patients.

Thank goodness Gido mentioned his name, otherwise Cruz wouldn't have remembered Mengroze's face.

It's only now that Yamada remembers because he has a context to place it in. Hearing his name makes him recall his visit to the doctor. Doesn't seem that odd to me.

To your question why Aruka didn't waste Mengroze if he was with the resistance, members getting killed without a clear cause could've made them suspect a traitor was amongst them. Uncovering the entire resistance would get much harder. Besides, Aruka knew a lot of resistance members already, even the one who gave orders. If killing single members seemed like a good plan to her she could've killed a lot more already.

Still, it's possible he didn't have anything to do with the resistance but was just the best local nutty professor.

My opinion is that I do not think Aruka take his brother Cruz at the best doctor to heal on its own will, most likely she will leave her fate to die, but if he has been cured it will be that Arclight is I ordered for her not to raise concern (although she protested saying why he had to save someone weak and powerless, it seems that she follows the law of the strongest, because for her, the strong eat the weak, and brother is not an exception.) I just hope that when Cruz has powers causes him to pay his sister the damage he did, though he did not kill her for having care when I had a bit of power.

"That person" being Arclight is invalidated because when that happened he hadn't entered the shelter yet, and besides, he tried later to annihilate everyone, Yamada included. Why would Arclight save Yamada when he later tried to kill him with his Eden Seed?

There's only one thing we know for sure: Aruka knows who's that person.

Oh, and in that dialogue part it says, "No, that's not true..."

Wouldn't it be funny if Mengroze is already part of Simeon currently? I mean, look at his right metal eye when Cruz recalls him. Does it remind you of something we have seen before?

there is however a loophole, if he was with Simeon at the time he healed Cruz, that would imply Aruka took him there, (as shes seen in the back). Now does she or does she not care for her brother? Also its unlikely Arclight would order her to get her brother fixed up (it doesnt seem as tho he knows him personaly). Its also possible that Aruka like any normal person does care for him but on other lvls she doesnt. (makes matters complicated). She hates him for being her weakness, after all she never went after the testament to make sure he was dead she simply asumed he was. She made the hole in the Ice. AND it frustrates her that he brought allies to her base, what does that matter if you dont see him as your brother anymore?
So i think its pretty natural and in fact she does care for him but since shes on the other side she doesnt have the luxury to show it. So this past time that he was injured she took care of him.

Its just a odd twist that the same doctor is now in this memory lol.

Arclight was in Third Shelter at the time. Why would he say 'That's enough, step down, Aruka' when he enters and sees her just standing there? You wouldn't say step down to someone who's not doing anything. I'm not saying Arclight saved Cruz in Third Shelter, but I'm pretty he saw what happened with Aruka and Cruz.

I guess I may have made an assumption that Mengroze is in the Resistance. I thought that Cruz wanted to keep his name a secret from Saten (and therefore, Simeon as a result) to protect him in case Simeon went after him. It makes sense now that he wouldn't be in the Resistance because Aruka would know who he is and have him killed... unless he already died when the Resistance was slaughtered. One thing is for sure, though, is he survives in Blade's memories.

Also, Ynot, those 2 kanji together make "baka", so it's nothing important to the story.

Ah, I think I can help you with that one. If I'm correct Saten asked if Yamada couldn't remember anything. Yamada says "no" after which saten says something like "If i remember correctly there was a very capable doctor who cooperated with the resistance" after which he again asks Yamada if he can remember anything.

Here's a couple of the kanji for if you want to look it up yourself. I didn't copy paste the meanings while I was searching. But this should help a bit. It's the first three panels of page nine.

Thanks for the translation and the kanji. That's interesting that after Saten brought that up, Cruz remembered Mengroze. Saten also had an "!" expression when Gido said his name. I wonder what secret Cruz is trying to keep from Saten at the end, since Saten asked if he remembers a skillful doctor from the Resistance and Cruz replies with that name. Maybe the mark on his hand?

Also, yeah, I had a little trouble with those two kanji for "horse" and "deer". The website I use for kanji look-up is: http://jisho.org/ and most of the time I directly go to: http://jisho.org/kanji/radicals/ and try to count brush strokes.

Saten remembers hearing something about a skilled doctor who helped the Resistance and asks Cruz if he knows anything about it. That's when Cruz remembers being taken to a hospital with a lot of machinery in it and comes up with "Groze" when trying to remember the name. Gido suggests "Mengroze" and Cruz says that's who it was.

2. In the Adam Project era flashback, Gido is telling Mengroze about a theory of his (that is, Gido's) about how humans (and other creatures) are almost symmetrical (2 arms, 2 legs, 2 eyes, 2 hemispheres to the brain, etc.) except for having only one heart. He says it's almost like two beings joined together. He says it's like their are 2 sets of parts but a single ego. He also mentions that people's souls also have a duality (e.g. good and evil, light and darkness). He imagines that perhaps long ago there were creatures somewhere in space that only had one of everything and due to some problem they had to work together 2 as 1 until they evolved into a single being with 2 of everything. He says this could be why the idea that "people can't live alone" is so instinctual to people.

On page 24, Mengroze is extending the concept Gido had talked to him about back then by saying to the girl that people would be better off if they had more fingers or more arms.

So far, I think Mengroze operated on Cruz AFTER these current Blade memories. That's because this is shounen Blade timeline instead of seinen Blade timeline (looking at Blade and Aruka as comparisons). So, no, Mengroze shouldn't recognize Cruz.

Seems Gido failed hard in understanding developmental biology. I'm not going to get into any details (mainly because I've forgotten everything, but if you're generally interested, I can explain stuff) but that's a strange concept to come up with and I wonder if it will have anything to do with Blade and Eve in this era.

To be honest, I've been pretty impressed with the accurate representations of science in this manga. Many of the properties of these fragments and medical explanations are pretty accurate, which keeps me interested. I wonder if Imai Kami liked science in high school or had friends doing that at a University or something.
