39 was a great episode, but an entire show with barely a glimpse of Lucy's exquisite derriere seems like a shame... Of course, Erza's decolletage wrapped in bandages isn't a bad consolation prize.

Well despite Erza's problem in putting things together it was still a good episode. Natsu didn't do much damage, but nice to have him just throw combos at Jellal. The only real break was their stock footage for the start of the wing slash attack, but otherwise it flowed pretty well. Could have been a really bad fight if they broke away for every move.

I think Gerard's twist was very well-handled in the anime: the conversation was more ample and there was intensity as well. Also liked the fight, it was pretty fast for FT standards! Also love the music they used in this episode, very fitting.

OOhhh that was indeed a step up in animation, very nice indeed.
Fist off, the fighting was awesome, all of it was simply great. What I've always wanted to see from this series, can only hope it stays like that now. Simon's death was pretty emotional, hits home alot more than the manga but then it's back with that superb OST and well obviously seeing such a scene animated and done very well will tend to be better than what you get from manga. Props to the production crew there(^_^)b Whole bunch of Natsu GAR moments but best ones were at 3:50 and 12:56 Looking forward to the next ep, it's very interesting to say the least. Hope it keeps with the high animation.

Spoiler for manga page i'm on about:
It's amazing how such a little change adds so much impact to the scene. Such a grand decision.

The episode was good, but they ruined the best moment.
Spoiler for manga:
In the manga shimon actually tell erza he loves her. As you can see in the image he moves the mouth. In the anime he never told her that. That was very disappointing. |

Plus here I think Simon knows that telling her that he loved her wouldn't honestly help her in anyway what so ever in that situation, would probably make it worse.

Wow, episode 40 was definitely a great action packed episode. It was full of emotion, too.
Spoiler for Erza thoughts:
Gotta love this episode, and hoping for further development soon. Lucy needs to show us more of Leo.

Arggg, when is this anime getting its own sub-forum! The show is really taking off now!
I like the prospect of Natsu x Erza, but I think the chance of this happening is about the same percentage of Ichigo getting with Orihime or Rukia. Romance between the main characters isn't a core issue, it's friendship and teamwork. There will be hints, teases, and plenty of fan art, but it will never happen. Natsu also has a quite a bit of growing up to do...which would probably ruin how fun and awesome he is. So, no, not going to happen. I don't think Ezra can be a girlfriend and a mother at the same time.
