Nanoha's accident would be something nice to cover. This is an AU after all, so don't let it contradicting StrikerS get in the way.

I think I may know what's currently happening with the Nanoha movie.

Yukari is retiring:
http://yaraon.blog109.fc2.com/blog-entry-30735.html

She wrote:

"To me, 2015 is the year I think will bid farewell.

The beginning of the end.
The countdown is about to begin.
I’m closing my eyes so I don’t see it.

“It’s not like we won’t see each other if we’re apart, so it’s okay,”
is just a lie.
I’m always lying to my own heart."

That being said, the wording is kind of left open to interpretation...So it might not mean she's retiring, even if it sounds that way.

Well hopefully that isn't the case and she is just planning on pulling back a bit. Either way it shouldn't kill the movie if they could get her voice work done before the end of the year. I don't think that would be the issue anyways for the movie since they've had enough time to do something with it. This is just putting a deadline of sorts if that is the case.

Would be a shame if she outright retired though. Has done such a great job with a lot of really memorable characters. Of course everyone is done at some point, but would be a sad day.

Should Nanoha anime projects continue past MOVIE 3rd what would be a suitable candidate to take Yukarin's role as Nanoha's VA?

Are we really sure she's retiring so soon? I mean, there's still the ViVid anime, and though the Naruto anime is approaching its endpoint Tenten still has some scenes to give voice to.

(I did not mention the 3rd movie because, as I've stated before on the last page of this thread, I no longer believe there's going to be one.)

they will find a replacement. However if demand or the amount of work they already put into it will determine how hard they look.

Japan is much more against replacing a female idol VA than they are a male VA. Replacing Yukari Tamura for Nanoha's voice has very little chance of happening if she is retiring.

Replacing? Are you kidding me? I can't even imaging any other seiyuu as Nanoha. To start with there's not much female seiyuus who could pull both cute loli voice and deep mature one equally good.

Tsuzuki won't stop his cash cow just 'cause he lost a voice actor.

Yukari and Nana are huge draws for the niche that is MGLN, though. Losing one or both could pretty much end the franchise. Otaku take that kind of thing VERY seriously in Japan.

There's always the possibility of sustaining it through manga another couple of years and the trying again. I love Yukarin but I wouldn't like the franchise to die just because of this.

Well, there is a reason why they branched out the series like this, so it wouldn't be dependent on them forever.

But Yukarin;; She's my favorite VA, and linked to why I picked up this series in the first place.
