Been a pleasant series, though a bit darker than anticipated. Will be nice seeing the cast's return in Fall.

Now we're talking about an interesting event. Gilette's death, if confirmed, at this point of the story is surprising but act as the trigger for Vivi's transformation into Chaika.
I'm ok with this. I want moar.

@ breimoon... I am not 100% sure if Vivi turned into a Chaika per se, but the hair did go white like the MC Chaika.... and admittedly we know very little about the Chaika clones in general, so let's not rule out something like that as possible.

That being said, it is possible she turned into something else too (I did not get a close look).... Maybe more will be clearer in season 2, or the question could be asked in the novel thread.

Nah, Gilette isn't dead, there was a Guy (two copies of him, actually) behind him, and he most likely teleported Gilette somewhere.

Her eyes turned purple as well, just like every Chaika: a color that, to my knowledge, we haven't seen in anyone else.

So... Vivi is a Chaika clone too... er..... that's certainly left field. If they were trying to make the audience sympathetic towards Layla and the psychopath, they failed, there was nothing likeable about them.

So Toru is going to be a Dragoon Cavalier huh? Well that's an interesting twist. And man, the iron blood technique thing is so crappy, They've yet to show it being amazing, or any different from their normal self.

Gilette is obviously not dead, there is two of the informer guy(or was it him? how comes there is 2?) behind him.

but yea the anime must skipped tons of stuff i mean we still know nothing about phycho kid and Gado. it feel more like plot summary than adaptation of the LN but meh this happen to most LN anime for some reason. i mean whats the hurry?

Wow, lots of deaths, and also alot of hints of what's to come in the final episode.

Not sure about anyone else, but I was fine with the magic rifles, dragoons, I buy the body parts full of magical energy. But not a fan or accepting of the giant floating fortresses at all.
Anyway, other stuff in this arc.

lol @ Federica using an outer body. And she shows why she keeps getting killed off by destroying a whole pack of dog spiders with no contest.

Its been a while since Toru or Akari used the Iron Blood thing. But lol, very anti-climatic fights.
The Kid just walks into Toru's knife. Anyone else could have done this. And the other guy just has his brains smashed in one hit.

Big surprise @ ViVi turning Chaika O_o Wonder if there was any hints to her backstory that might have been cut of showing this possibility, since seems most of Gilette's unit is full of strays he's picked up along his journeys.

It was leading to it, but didn't expect Chaika + Toru to share a kiss (though an oxygen kiss)
They were lucky Akari didn't see them attempting to have a real kiss.

I don't think it has anything to do with what she was before. After watching the previous episode and this one, I've been wondering if I might have had a fundamental misunderstanding of the Chaikas. Layla said she "awakened" as a Chaika one day. And now this... These may just be ordinary girls, transformed somehow into these corpse-collectors. But why, how, by what? There are still so many pieces of the puzzle missing, and I can't accept whoever or whatever this was doing this to Vivi. It's horrifying.

Maybe Vivi was a Chaika clone all along, a Chaika "mole". She was programmed to be on the other side to collect the remains. No rule states that Chaika couldn't be working on the side of the ruling party doing the same thing that the more visible Chiaka clones are doing.

When Gillette "disappeared", that was her signal to awaken and leave. If Gillette is not there, then that group won't be looking for Chaika clones anymore so she isn't needed anymore and can be sacrificed if she is not skillful enough to get out of there. Or ....maybe she was actually programmed to protect Gillette. Gillette could be a Gaz descendant, next in line or his clone.

White Chaika has 2 legs, 2 eyes and 1 hand so maybe there aren't too many parts of Emperor Gaz left and the controllers can go to phase 2. That means ditching the clones not needed like Vivi.

Dammit, I really have mixed feelings about that one scene. Alien used to be one of my favourite horror movies. Now, I can't look at it the same way ever again. Chibi Frederica too cute. Holy stool, she was.

That was a great watch, looking forward to the rest.
