So I have the english dub DVDs and I'm wondering if they're in the order they aired in Japan or are they in the order that makes sense? Also are there any specials or bonus materials that are missing from the english DVDs that were in the Japanese ones?

The special edition DVDs have the Japanese bonuses, and the original airing order.

The normal english DVDs have the chronological order and no bonuses.

slight mistake there...

The Normal US discs are in Chronological order. They may have some extras - I do not know. Anyone able to confirm?

The Limited Edition US Discs contain a copy of the Normal discs, which have many (if not all) of the japanese disc feature (like the Nekoman gallery and Haruhi Comercial filmings) on them as well. They also have the ASOS Brigade *shudder*. As well you get a copy of Japanese-only Broadcast order discs (which even the Japanese didnt get), and other goodies (which are mostly from the Japanese releases - stuff like pencil boards).

No, they don't. It's just the DVDs. Every time I go to London Drugs I see them sitting there, unsold...

What are these bonuses you speak of? Are they the ASOS and Makings of Haruhi clips?

This is from chapter 1 of the novels

"Probably. I mean you can't expect someone with a nickname like Kyon to be normal."

Stop calling me Kyon, Kyon, Kyon! Rather than being called by that stupid nickname, just use my real name! At the very least I wanted to hear my sister call me "Onii-chan"!
I do not understand it, can you tell me what it means? So Kyon is not his name?

No, just a nickname. That everyone uses.

His real name is unknown.

And the author apparently only thought of the real name recently, so there's no real plot involved with his true name.
