It's actually based on a light novel and I think it has 8 volumes (it's ongoing) released in the country of Rising Sun. Though I didn't read them, I was expecting the show to adapt the first few volumes without cramming too much stuff, but that's my guess.

8 volumes did you say 8 volumes After watching three episodes I can not see how this tv series not a ova I can not how any one can do so much with this idea

Surprisingly enough I agree.

I've been wondering this whole time how exactly a lot of content can come out of this premise. I can only assume that there will either be a lot of episodic content of the mystery nature, or some sort of development. Or both. If it's done well though, I can't complain. As you said though, eight volumes of a light novel with this idea is a stretch for the imagination. Should be interesting...

Spoiler for Episode 4:

The new episodes traces back on Madoka's character: she had a obssessive love over her older brother turned into a dog, and she appears jealous of him getting along with any other female. Narumi helps Kirihime to investigate on Madoka's dissapearance, only to realize that things gets a lot worse for the siblings. It's now stated that Madoka is a yandere sister, which is a nice change of pace, and Suzuna continues as being a masochist. What I liked about the show is that Narumi do not plan on building his harem besides staying by Kirihime's side, and I would like to see Madoka's motivation of stealing her brother from anyone else to be clearly more justified by the next episode, and I liked the haremettes' personalities, and so far become a surprise hit of the season to my book.

I knew many animes where the MC do not plan to build his own harem (and I've been feeling it when I was introduced to this genre), but I find it original they made the MC into something else other than being an average human (turned into a dog in this case's) but I don't feel him enough to have every girls lusting after him for his own heart, I can only imagine a few of them who were genuinely attracted to the MC from the start (like Kirihime and Madoka). Animes that do the opposite case of having a MC building his harem become more common from my point of view too.

The relationship is quite forced. It's still possible that the imouto is grieving over her sibling's death. The unfriendly relationship between the author and imouto is too dramatic. The author's apartment is going to be trashed. Are they going to hit the possibility of romance for real? Some people are going to be so raged.

p.s. The editor looks like the most scary character in this episode.
