Ah yes, refreshing action! More mecha action! At least this helps to establish why the Sarashiki sisters are the best characters of the show (other than Chifuyu). But, disappointing for the preview, looks like we are back to filler..

(I wonder if we are going to see Chloe this season)

actually I don't think its filler the episode seems like its missing a ton but o well.

Spoiler for Episode 9:

Great episode in terms of character development and story. Kanzashi have been developping into a good character of the series and is one of the few characters who can see Ichika other than wanting to be impressed by him. She realizes that Tatenashi is supposed to stole everything from her yet realize the mistakes she commits for her. They are finally getting along again and they are advancing their development pretty quick in the series. Even Ichika is reaching a few steps beyond being dense. Next episode will go back to romcom antics and given how small screentime the antagonists are getting so far, I wouldn't mind a season three of it.

Doubt a season 3 would happen, considering the LN is on hiatus AGAIN. And with how this season is going, it's still unclear if we are going anime original ending or LN8 plot.

Spoiler for ep 9:

Good to see Kanzashi finally get over with her thought about she can't win against Tatenashi and how the two sister reconcile . Tabane once again show her crazy ability to create mech that can overpower current IS users save for the latest IS , Houki get another new weapon thank to that , now i understand why fan was not quite happy about that , too much screen time for Houki , Ichika gains nothing , still useless untill Houki comes and gives a buff , pretty much hint the ending .

the problem isn't that its that their blowing through the material to the point half the episodes will be filler

That aside, why another original episode >________>" the only thing I can see out of the next episode is Cecillia somehow poisoning everyone.

Interesting notes: Kanzashi firing her missiles and the hi-5 between Charl and Laura were taken from the OP lolol. also that scene with Yamada-sensei and Chifuyu in the operating room... is it just me, or is that copy-pasta'd over from one of the season 1 episodes?

Good episode, finally something grand that I've been waiting for. But, does this episode solidify Ichika's position as the weakest out of the core group?

Laura, Charl, Rin and Cecilia were able to destroy their opponents without suffering significant damage. Tatenashi, with Houki's help, was able to finish her enemy fairly quickly (though quite reckless I might add). Kanzashi was able to hold her own against that unmanned IS. Meanwhile Ichika got captured by that machine and tossed around like a ragdoll.

What I would like to see is Chifuyu dominate in an IS. I wonder whether we'll ever get to see that on-screen. Last but not least, so Kanzashi is included in that ending pic but Tatenashi not? Oh, well.

I don't really like the scene when Tatenashi and Ichika console Kanzashi... it's too loong and boring (you don't need to define a human in slow motion.. just mention you love your little sister, Tatenashi-san!)
it's little sad to see how Ichika having a hard time to kill the enemy while the other girls managed to handle them well (Tatenashi looks weaker in this episode as well... why?)
and congratulations Kanzashi for joining the harem (Tatenashi is on the route)
hopefully next filler episode will be entertaining

^This. Although I can handle him being the most useless one of the lot and his only redeeming quality is that he can operate an IS for now. If he wasn't such a huge dumbass when it's comes to females, so the less Ichika in the episode the better. Which made cringe when he showed up in that the dream like scene...

Also I'm wondering if the only security the school has is an invisible dog fence...?

I guess its becouse all ichikas attacks drain his own shield >_> sword, setsura attacks while the girls have equipment that doesnt do that they have bullets in those weps and can equip their IS with lots of stuff.... while ichikas equip slots are closed duo the one-off ability (that is generally useless on him)

Its like with Kanzashi this ep. she saw the core but her bullets run out (she could have stomped on it with her leg but nah)...

what is really disapointing is that Houki has the most advenced IS (that has speed, armor, shields, 2powerfull swords that can do close or range attacks, even got another bow like weapon)... and she was not able to handle even 1of those alone while she should be able to destroy all of them herself

her IS is hax becouse of the ability of recovering energy... if that was given to ichika he would be at least a little threat... but if he runs out of energy he has no weapon to fight with ;/

but still I just dont know if after losing that 2nd shift look (besides studio going the easy road on drawing)... did it lose its other options too like speed or setsura attacks.... I mean ichika is dense as hell... when he was blocking the IS in the pit with his sword... he could use setsura close range attack (the energy claw)....but again he didnt and is mainly using his sword and gets his ass kicked.... so for what sake does he have it if he doesnt use it..

sadly next ep looks like a filler... and I have a feeling it will be about girls learning that the shortest road to guys heart is throught stomach so girls go and try to prepare a ultra delicous dish that will make ichika fall in love with them (maybe after learning what his favourite food is) dont have a clue if this was in novel or is it anime only stuff

By the way, 9/10 due to Battle and Kanzashi!
