I only got 227k dps and 13.4m toughness on my crusader on the stat screen but there's bunch of actual dps that can't be quantitified coming from my thundergod vigor and schafer's hammer. Also punish + roar becomes more potent with more blocked dmg despite only doing 45% aoe dmg per activation. Finding some key legendary for your built makes it easier to tackle higher torment lvl than just increasing your dps.
Although progress is slow on T3 with my low dps, i've got enough toughness to safely do it while watching anime. If you are running a tanky built, i recommend skipping the trash mobs and go straight into the elite packs or bounty.

My approach to this game: if I can't kill the "average" enemy in an area in one hit (usually), I'm not doing enough damage. Because of this, I dislike doing more than just playing through the campaign once, because as soon as I go into adventure mode or playing the campaign with the same character a second time, even with a unique sword dropped by Malthiel the piddling little zombies around Tristram suddenly take several hits to kill. Playing anything beyond the single normal campaign results in my characters being unable to do enough damage, and I stop having fun with it.
Of course, for me the most fun is starting from nothing and working my way up to being crazy powerful while following the story. Once I've completed the story, starting over with a character who is already at a moderately high level isn't really fun. ...I get the feeling very few people here share this point of view.

Thing is, that was always the premise of Diablo since the first one. You fight through normal -> start over as a mook in nightmare -> start over again in hell. Having played all three Diablos, I'd say I'm used to it.
Actually, I'd say I'm bored by it (main reason why I didn't finish vanilla D3), so I'm happy they pretty much did away with it in the expansion. Starting at expert till lvl 51 by the end of act 4, then master till lvl 61, then torment 1 till 68 right before Act V boss. Only had to grind a couple of hours to get to 70, then grind an hour to get to 200k dps. So instead of playing it three times over just to get to max level (or near max level in D2 as getting past 90's was a HUGE chore), I only needed to play the campaign once to get to the beginning of the end game.

Diablo II and I suppose III are games were the story is to get you into it at first and the rest of it is loot + power accumulation. Sort of like WoW in that End Game is usually more about epics and legendaries than it is about story (though they usually try to make the story progress the need for new epics).

When I had still played D2 closed battle.net actively, I always stopped around Level 70. I played actually more on Classic than LoD (the latter mostly offline) and Cow runs and/or Act IV runs were only funny to a certain degree. My characters didn't have complete BiS gear, I think, but I was also lucky to get some SoJ's from a classmate who was either damn lucky or duped them. He never told me .
@D3: The XP boost community event helped me a *lot* to even get a few characters to 60 pre-xp-pack. Whereas now my Crusader is sloooowly crawling towards 60 - just passed Level 50 - on Adventure mode and should be roughly if not the same level as my Barbarian. I tried a bit Hard and Expert for the xp boost, but at least while in the portal zones the monsters are just too tedious to kill (and sometimes trash me instead). Then again, I haven't bothered with, e. g., the Mystic at all.

I'm told that frustration you're feeling is an essential part of the experience. Everyone who bought the game when it first came out felt it for the first several days when they were completely unable to play because of server issues.
More seriously, I have no idea. I haven't noticed a large number of disconnects lately, except the standard one caused by inactivity when I walk away for half an hour, but they have happened before, and I haven't played today yet.

i do suffer connection problems, but mostly because of my end i think. i dont hear anyone else complaining except for my friends in the same city with the same ISP. my other friend in the same city with another ISP has no problem.

Disconnection issues aside (looks that, for the most part, they can be fixed by simply logging in with a second character once.. at least it's been working for me so far), the game's pretty fun.
Rolled a Demon Hunter, 'cause who doesn't love dual wielding crossbows? Couple minutes into the game I decided to bump the difficulty up to Hard and haven't looked back since. I'm now several chapters into Act I (Trailing the Coven) and while not difficult, my tendency to mob large groups of enemies keeps things interesting. And either I'm very lucky, or the loot's plain odd I'm swimming in gold items and found 3 legendaries thus far. |

Kadala's Legendary drop rate has been increased.* Unique Monsters now use the same loot table as Champions.* The bonus Legendary drop rate for Nephalem Rifts has been increased from 25% to 100%* The number of chests that spawn across Sanctuary has been reduced.* The Unique Ebenezer Samuel no longer spawns 100% of the time on higher difficulties.* more loot for everyone.

I've gotten more Legendaries (more than quadruple easily) on my brand-new Crusader (now Lvl-45), than I ever had on my Monk and Wizard (both Lvl-60+) combined in their months of playing before the expansion.
I'm... I'm actually salvaging Legendaries. Was pretty excited about Enchanting at first... but the options have been pretty meh... Also... need more Death's Breath. Cheers.

Yep got disconnected like three time this morning. I called it quits and slept. XD
I for one like enchanting. One thing I didn't like about the older diablos was finding a piece of superior gear but hated how it looks on my char. Transmog takes that away. Oh yeah, gotta catch'em all transmogs. But seriously, sometimes you find something that's really useful except for one primary (usually in the vein of skill bonus damage or bonus damage to a certain element). If it's a weapon that's useful except for one primary, giving it a socket is the single biggest increase in DPS you can do with the crafting merchants, since Marquise gems are not rare in Master or up. Oh yeah, if you can do Hard from the get go, Expert isn't a big step up (1.4x HP). At least, it isn't as big a step up from Normal to Hard (3x HP), and you gear up quicker. At least that was my experience with my old crusader at the release of the expansion (RIP as I deleted him at like lvl 20 since it was so frustrating to play before the buffs).

Tempted to switch to Expert then (still, the difficulty descriptions sure are misleading...). I meanwhile changed to Barbarian and I've been mowing through content efortlessly.
I'm now using the Enchantress follower so I force myself to drink a potion here and there, but I've come to realize that her charm ability's kind of fun....especially considering that damaging the charmed enemy doesn't dispel it - It's funny to watch a charmed purple-named killing its minions while I keep on hitting it. |

500k paper DPS on the monk, and I kinda feel like I hit a wall.
I know what I need, and gives me a headache thinking about the roll possibility. Maybe I'll go have some fun raising a crusader. Quote:
You will be needing a LOT of legendary mats, so get cracking salvaging them. I've wasted dozens just getting sockets on my 1h weapons for crt dmg. I am perpetually in dire need of Forgotten Souls. As for Death's Breath, yeah it felt like there wasn't enough at first. But that didn't last too long. Once you start farming Torment where it practically rains DBs, you will have more than you know what to do with. No really, like every other elites drop Death's Breath in Torment.

Phew, finally passed 60 with my Crusader. It felt a bit dragging as there was no real skill combination I felt happy with. But, as for now I've settled with http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/calculato...ROl!aYf!Zaab.Z. There's no theorycrafting behind it as I fail at it and am not sooo interested in, still: FoH: Divine Well felt more powerful than Fissure and smoother than Divine Hammer skill. I'm aware that gearing for +element% and what not will more than change everything. Anyways, Judgement and Justice to help me against the dreaded Frozen attribute enemies who seem to haunt me more frequently lately . Heaven's Fire as fire and forget on cooldown, same for Bombardment, which seems okay-ish and is for testing and replacable. Iron Skin as oh sh*t when I see me mashing Q *lol* Fortunately, I found a 2k damage weapon that helped me immensely to play on Expert Adventure Mode. For now I'm only interested in reaching 70 and then see which chara to play next.
