Considering the issues the ADF (I assume you mean Australian Defense Force) has been having recently with regards to public relations and women, I think having a bunch of young girls as recruiting mascots would probably just confuse the situation more or just piss people off further.

But then again all sorts of whacky things seem to fly in the ADF, so maybe it would fit in.
