Here are some fun facts.

The Ships of the Queen's Fleet are armed with a magic weapon called the [Divine Cannon of St Barbara] whose maximum range seems to be 4-5km (nautical), for those of you who are not in the loop (like me), Saint Barbara was an early Christian saint and martyr. Her historicity is open to doubt, but legendary accounts place her in the 3rd century, perhaps best known as the patron saint of artillerymen, military engineers, miners and others who work with explosives because of her old legend's association with lightning, and also of mathematicians.

... Why is it that even though so many people mention they like Railgun better, whenever science side gets its promotion, the episodes are rated poorly, but once we get into nuns and magic, the episode ratings go up?

Most people in this thread are Index LN fans that's why.

People have probably already mentioned/asked this, but does anyone know why this season has such an exponentially higher amount of fan service than the first season? The first season only had a few--Index's and LO's introductions and Misaka-Imouto's occasional flashing--and Railgun had about the same as that. Any reason they decided to kick it up--or down, depending--a notch? Is this a subtle opposition to the recent Tokyo Youth Ordinance Bill?

I swear when they get to the Russia arc they should mention St Ushakov. St of nuclear bombers deserves it.

The novels clearly stated Sphinx was left to Komoe-sensei for this trip. Besides that, just the fact Mikoto's own AIM drives cats away make her (and by extension the Sisters) unsuitable to take care of cats

That's the point.
Since the first episode I knew something went different.
When I saw the f******-obvious "Fukiyose breasts coming" scene in the opening, I was like "shit, they're ruining it! How can I be 100% proud of knowing this series when I see that kind of ... ?"
The first season was like neat, clean. It had just enough cute scenes and stuff.
But now epicism is being messed up by "come ooon I don't care about your boobs, Oriana" scenes.
