Help finding good anime/manga
Hey I need some help finding a good anime series or manga to read or watch. So I was like hey why not ask someone for help. I have a ultimate anime list that I'm gonna post up. I swear I have a life it just that I get bored so I organize when I get bored. Oh yeah this list might help you too so it's like a win win situation. I'm gonna put the ones in bold that I really like and want to find a series similar too. Oh yeah these are just anime's, so I've never read the manga versions of theses except a few.
Shounen Law of Ueki Mar Samurai Deeper Kyo Dragon Ball Kekkaishi Busou Renkin D.Gray-man Blood+ History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi Gintama Zombie-Loan Yu Yu Hakusho Hunter x Hunter Air Gear Trigun Ruroni Kenshin Full Metal Alchemist Naruto Naruto Shippuden Groove Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann Ghost Hound Shoujo Inuyasha Ouran Highschool Host Club Ranma 1/2 Fruits Basket (read manga don't watch the anime b/c they dont complete) Yamato Shichi Henge ( manga's amazing anime is just downright terrible) Lovely Complex Full Moon wo Sagashite Gakuen Alice DN Angel Tsubasa Skip Beat A little advice on all the Shoujo anime most of the manga is like 100% better than the anime. I would have to say the only exceptions are Skip Beat, Ouran Highschool and Inuyasha I would have to say the Anime and manga are on equal terms. Oh yeah and most of the shoujo doesn't get completed in the anime and theirfo has a crappy ending. XP |

Kodomo No Omocha
Kodomo no Omocha & Gakuen Alice are quite similar in many ways. The main character (Sana in KnO & Mikan in GA) is a super-hyper little girl who's maybe a little dumb at times, but still seems to make friends with everyone. Enter the troubled boy (Hayama in KnO & Natsume in GA). Girl & boy start out mortal enemies, but somehow end up being the only ones who can really understand each other. Girl breaks through boy's tough shell, and they live happily ever after... well, not quite. Like most school couples, they seem to have a hard time realizing their own feelings. Troubles abound, untrustworthy teachers interfere, and confusions about "who likes who" arise. Kodomo no Omocha is quite a bit longer than Gakuen Alice, so there are more twists and turns. But the hearts of the stories are very similar, so if you liked Gakuen Alice and want to take a plunge into a longer series, you should definitely check out Kodomo no Omocha. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kodocha Get Backers While they initially seem quite different, Hunter x Hunter and GetBackers actually have quite a bit in common. For one thing, they both have large casts of main and supporting characters that come and go throughout the series. On top of that, many of the story arcs between the two seem to have the same atmosphere. They both combine comedy, action and suspense, and while they both can get serious, they also retain their lightheartedness for the most part. If you like the sense of adventure or character development and interaction in one series, you would definitely be somewhat endeared to the other. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Get_Backers Paradise Kiss I would like to say that Paradise Kiss is the shorter version of Skip Beat! but it's not. The career path that the main characters follow is somewhat related but still different. The motivations, character development, and even plot development is also quite different. To be frank there is not much relating Paradise Kiss to Skip Beat! The underlying reason for this recommendation is the fast paced career development of the two protagonist. Just as suddenly as they decided to enter their chosen field, innate tallents emerged making them shine just as bright as any star. These two shows do an excellent job of illustrating how ones life can change in the blink of an eye. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paradise_Kiss Peace Maker Kurogane Both Peace Maker and Kenshin contain elements of the same time period and story. Both stories deal with Japan and the time of the Meiji revolution. Peace Maker deals with the actual revolution while Kenshin deals with the era directly after the revolution. If you liked the characters in Peace Maker you will find the characters in Kenshin just as enjoyable, and vice versa. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peace_Maker_Kurogane Bokura Ga Ita Bokura ga Ita and Lovely Complex are both romance-drama-shoujo anime, focusing on a pairing between the two main characters-- no reverse harems here. However, the relationships in either series are far from smooth, and the occasional third-party might wander in to present a roadblock, but little more than that. Both shows approach the romance in a realistic way, more-so, even, in Bokura. The relationships are strained and difficult to maintain, at times, but both sides are trying, if only in their own ways. The main difference between the two shows is that Lovely Complex is more upbeat and comedic, while Bokura ga Ita is more realistic and dramatic. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bokura_ga_ita Chrono Crusade Chrono Crusade and Full Metal Alchemist have a relatively dark theme behind them but not without some humour involved. The theme of the protaganist wanting to save a member of their family at any cost is used in both of these. The at ANY cost is rather important in them both too as neither protagonist wishes to take life at any point if it can be avoided. They both have issues of religion in them, although Chrono Crusade is so much stronger based in that aspect than FMA is. It is rather certain that if you liked one, the other will be a great watch for you. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chrono_Crusade Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya has not just been recommended because both characters happen to be called 'Haruhi', no, the choice, I assure you, runs much deeper. Take the host of zany characters for example. Or the school setting. Or the fact that both anime feel right for each other. True, the plots are extremely different, and the lead characters have almost contrasting personalities (Haruhi Fujiota being forced to work for the guys in 'Ouran High School Host Club' until her debt is repaid and Haruhi Suzumiya forcing everyone to join the SOS brigade) but at the heart of both anime is a laugh out loud story which should apply to real life if not for all the crazy happenings. Definitely an anime to watch if you liked 'OHSHC'. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haruhi_suzumiya Tenjho Tenge Granted, the plots of this and Yu Yu Hakusho are very different, but the feeling and adrenaline rushes you get from watching them are equally enjoyable. The action and the fighting scenes are wonderful and it's also nice that nothing in these animes seem to be extremely personal, such as the past of Kenshin or Sasuke. They are both straight to the point and really exciting. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tenjho_Tenge Love Hina If you're a fan of Ranma then the odds are you'll probably enjoy Love Hina for all the same reasons. The most obvious similarity between the two is that they are both Harem series in which the main charactes are constantly being smacked around by the rest of the cast. However, what makes both of these series great though is the romantic developement. Like Ranma, Love Hina is full of misunderstandings and lover's quarrells. The constant romantic uncertainty leaves the viewer craving a resolution. Beyond that, both series are light hearted, comedic, and a lot of fun to watch. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Love_hina Air Master Air Master and Air Gear emphasize almost super-human physical skills that seem amazing and yet just-about within grasp realistically, adding a great touch of realism to skills performed that just look stunning. They are also about self-discovery through performing a certain art, be it futuristic skating or street-fighting, as is the case here, and emphasize friendship and self-improvement. Both anime are really quite great, and should be watched together. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_Master |
