I finally finished watching this. A really damn good show...

I seriously didn't expect that I would enjoy it like this. I mean, the first time I knew about this series was because of a doujin from yuri-ism so I thought that I wouldn't be bothered with the full representation of this anime and just focused on using my yuri goggle.

...though I must say that I didn't really need to use that because it's a canon relationship.

Oh and what's this about movie? It's going to be a reboot instead of sequel?

I was hoping more Marika with galactic empire plot

yes in the yuri Moretsu Pirate are Canon, "Lynn / Jenny"

... or Chiaki for Marika? hihihihi

and I think the film is a story "original"

Recently watched the series, it was a fun ride. Marika was quite an awesome female lead...cool pirate captain too of course!

She really came up with some neat plans, I was thinking at one point the Bentenmaru would have lost a chunk of itself.

Well time to join you folks to wait for that movie in a year...

Gosh, I saw the main site the other day and I was wondering why the new artowrk. The movie comes out in 2014.... maybe I should eat parfaits till then just to pass the time

Uh... didn't realize that this was based on light novel when reading the few pages back. Anyone mind telling me whether that Ironbeard identity is the same as the light novel or not?

Ironbeard only appears in the anime. As for his identity, well, there isn't anything in the novels to suggest a change from his status at the beginning of the series, so far as I know.

I've seen artbook a couple pages back that seems to depict his face without the mask. Is that an artbook based of the anime or more to the novel...?

Then again, if he never appeared in the LN so I guess that thing is based on the anime

Good enough that I wouldn't be ashamed to show it to friends who aren't anime fans, though it's not without issues. The Narrator lacks the gravitas of the original; Kane sounds like he's hitting on the Yacht Club members; there's something really ... off about Jenny's voice; and of course the names get absolutely mangled. I do really like Misa and Marika (despite the lack of "Eeeeeeh?").

I've only watched disc one so far, so I can't comment on the Bentenmaru crew except that Hyakume sounded good in his little appearance.
