Careful, Haruhi Suzumiya is a licensed novel series in the US.

Of course, Sneaker Magazine is not... ^_^

And I believe it was mentioned on the blog Megax linked to that the novel portion is only 18 pages.

That line is really strange since Gigazine posted this line about 10 minutes later: 「涼宮ハルヒの驚愕」本編は68Pから70枚分が先行掲載されています。 (The novel portion of Kyougku starts at page 68 and goes for 70 pages.)

I'd still say it's probably 70 pages.

Actually, although the section of the magazine is 18 pages, I think that the actual content would be 70 pages in novel form. Remember, light novels are TINY, and there's a lot of text here...

Nothing out of the usual occurs during the progression.
No special mentions informing.

b-7:
Yuki stays in bed.
Yuki attempts to remain calm and collected, but one can assume it's not an ordinary illness. It's natural for Kyon to worry too.
However, we get to see an unexpected side of Haruhi's past.
For the first time, Haruhi's mother is mentioned.
Haruhi goes beyond the normal person, normally common sense and reason would apply.

Kyon leaves and meets Kuyoh by chance. I originally saw this scene illustrated by Ito-san.
And then after this, a shocking return of Asakura Ryoko!
A dangerous development. Will she try to kill Kyon...
No, on the contrary, she's here to save Kyon!

Kuyoh mobilizes beyond reality.

Asakura then immediately vanishes, the normal course of action with her.
Kimidori-san looks on from the side.

After this, it remains the same.
The reason for the division is not revealed.

So the "Atashi to tsukiau" line is by Kyon? Well, all the "watashi"-based pronouns (watashi, watakushi, atashi, etc.) all use the same kanji (私), and there aren't any furigana (pronunciation indication) in the magazine, so maybe it's the spoiler-originator's own usage filtering through? As much as Kyon may use "ore" in conversation, it does make sense that he wouldn't use it in a request under such circumstances...

Normally a page number on a magazine cover or table of contents refers to when the section begins, not how many pages it is. 70 pages of the new Haruhi novel seems like an awful lot for a magazine promo.
