From the DVD sales thread:

Quote:
Kanokon *7,556 (6) (Xebec)
2008/06/25 *9,327 Vol. 1 Limited Edition (Two episodes up to Vol. 6)
2008/07/25 *8,033 Vol. 2 Limited Edition
2008/08/22 *7,571 Vol. 3 Limited Edition
2008/09/25 *7,136 Vol. 4 Limited Edition
2008/10/24 *6,697 Vol. 5 Limited Edition
2008/11/21 *6,572 Vol. 6 Limited Edition
I don't think a sequel is surprising. Considering current market conditions, companies will keep exploiting the properties that sell.

I really wouldn't go as far as to call it amazing.

It's amazing that anyone would call it a storyline. Does that count?

I won't deny it (storyline). But in my personal opinion, I'd say over 90% of the show was overloaded by fanservice (which is a turn-off for the majority, but... not for some )

I don't know about novels since I am unable to get 'em anyway, but the manga is better. So I'd say it isn't quite fair to call off the storyline of Kanokon and treat it as if it's non-existent.

Yeah, you know - I don't really have a problem with this show in that it's at least unpretentious - it makes no claim to be anything deep. Anything resembling "plot" is just a wafer-thin pretense to get to the increasingly shocking fanservice. And oh, those loli ninjas - I'd wade through a bit of pretense to get to them anyway...

Woohoo!

More spankings, more cake, more loli-in-the-tub, 3 piece swimsuits, and loli twin ninjas! Oh my!

Who in their right mind would watch a show like this for its storyline and plot? Seriously, this show is at its top form when it throws the plot out the window and focuses on what it does best, fanservice that pushes the envelope.

I think at the end, it really did try to be serious.

If you think about it, a show with like 95% lust and fanservice and little boy and buxom lady, why in the world would these two even think about love? If you do those kinds of things to a girl that Kouta did, why in the world would you be so insecure or indecisive about love? Is he so uncomprehending and meek that he could never think about what he wants?

Topple that one with Chizuru's Melodramatic attitude and you have something that is rather insane.

A lot of people diss'ed the original show, and I admit it had no real readeaming qualities, but for some reason it just made me laugh my ass off.

Here's looking forward to more!

I'm putting all my blame on Chizuru and Nozomu.

I'm still really hoping there will be a season 2, but for now I guess 2 OVA episodes will be fine. Still looking forward to it.

Heck, even the manga hints on a backstory about Kouta's heritage, why he can recognize youkai and why Chizuru fell in love at him in the first place. Unfortunately, the anime didn't even bother with such material. But hey, at least we get to see Chizuru's mom.

Hopefully, the OVA will take back what little actual story it previously tossed aside during the anime's run, but yeah... I'm not holding my breath.
