It's a free game which people have spent years making out of the goodness of their hearts. Lighten up!
Snaffled the download this morning while getting ready for work. So I know what I'll be doing when I get home. The demo was enjoyable, so I'm looking forward to seeing where the full version goes. |

I'm always surprised when I get good DL speeds considering I'm in rural NSW (australia). Question; where are the game saves kept? I want to switch back and forth between my desktop and laptop heh.

I was so hyped yesterday that I spent my work downtime sketching, then the whole evening finishing a fanart piece to coincide with the launch (juuuust missed it, can see it on KS forums). Unfortunately I had to hit download and go to sleep since I had to be at work in just over 6 hours. And here I sit in between taking calls... waiting... I can't even get on the official forums from here T_T |

I decided to give this one a spin, thanks to my twisted ankle, I've more time to laze around than ever. Within 5 hours, I've power-read through the routes, and it's given me some form of satisfaction.
The production levels are nice for this level of development. What impressed me most is the animation of the movies at the start of the heroine routes, it almost looks like it's professionally made. I sensed a bit of subtle difference of style between routes. Perhaps, as I see from the credits, due to the different writing authors? I'll probably edit in some more impressions on individual routes after sleeping off the fatigue from the power-read.

I hate the in-game art. I don't understand why the concept character art (and promotional art that I've seen) is so good/decent and the in-game art is so amateur-looking.
That aside, the game actually isn't bad (err, the first act, rather).

Got Hanako's good/true end earlier today.
Spoiler for Hanako Good End:
Gonna do Emi's route next. ~_~ I concur. At least some of the CGs are much better looking than the portraits. I guess even the portrait art grew on me by the time I had gotten my first ending. |

It's a stellar effort. Yeah, not at the league of what a dedicated team of Japanese folks can do, but it's decent enough.

The sprites looked superb, IMO.

And anyway, I thought this project was done by both Japanese and English people, since the VN name is in Japanese -_-. No, I definitely don't want English voice acting but if there was Japanese, even if amateur, it would be so much better. Anyway go on, enjoy your game.. I'll look elsewhere for a VN's to play ;<

I wonder what people did back in the day when VNs didn't have voice acting.
Anyway some of my friends who have had time to try it out say that Rin's path is by far the most emotionally involving and best written, and the way the story goes goes against the expectations set on her character. Thus, I'm going to play her route last.

Believe it or not, it's probably the... NORM for doujin Regarding the art, a lot of those portrait sprites are from different times in development. Emi's was reworked last and is my least favorite set, while Lilly's is easily my favorite. And even then, compared to Higurashi/Umineko, these sprites are far more polished. I agree in a sense about some of the CGs, but the composition and thought in them more than makes up for the slight unfinished/sketchy feel. The movies were a total surprise to me - the devs never mentioned once that anything like that was going to be included. I kind of scared my brother when I'm shouted "MOVIES!????!?" as the first one played :P @Vanguard: I don't think all of the endings are sad. That being said, since the nature of the game is about severe disabilities/high school, I won't be surprised to see one or two with characters dying or separating as they graduate. Why not give another route a try? |
