In episode 35 Maria-san dresses up like Sugintou when Hayate and she are out on a "date". It was funny.
In episode 36, Hayate dresses up like Belldandy from Ah! My Goddess. I plain busted out laughing when I saw that. Hayate looked.... pretty? XD Also, even though this isn't a reference to another anime, seeing Klaus depicted as KFC's Colonel was funny. Also, Klaus had the Lance of Longinus in him later on and I heard someone say "AT Field"... Eva ref, obviously.

Episode 38:
I saw yet another one.... there's an Transformers Autobots symbol on the tree at the very beginning of episode 38. I was really obvious, so I'm surprised no one has mentioned it yet.... Also, in episode 38, I saw.... Viral! I know for certain it was the same voice-actor, and he looked almost exactly the same too, from one eye covered with hair to the pointy teeth. That Gurren Lagann reference in combination with the "Drill Kick" was hilarious. I think there was also a GaoGaiGar reference in that episode, too, but i don't remember what it was. I just know there was one. Episode 39: LMFAO @ the giant black dragonball Nagi picks up out of nowhere to throw at Klaus. And is it just me, or was that a Gurren Lagann reference on the TV when we saw Hanagiku's sister drunk in front of the TV? And obvious the Gurren Lagann showed up at the superintendant's house. Man, that was too funny. I think that armor was a Zodiac Warriors reference, but I'm not sure.

Cyborg Butler may have had some physical qualities of Viral, but he was a walking homage to GaoGaiGar. The Drill Knee, Hell and Heaven (or "Jigoku and Tengoku" to avoid the laywers), and of course, the Goldion Hammer, were all taken from GGG himself.

Remember in episode 17, where Klaus paints himself green in the warehouse and says that when he's not on screen, he's in the warehouse thinking about art?
Does anyone think that him being Rodin The Thinker is a reference to Yakitate Japan where Kawachi was encased in bread as Rodin The Thinker during the international tournament? |
