Spoiler for SF 1 result:
And just look at the scenes down in Senriyama Girls' High School. People hugging each other, jumping, cheering, flags of Osaka Prefecture and Osaka City in the air, just an unbelievable atmosphere in the Kitchen of Japan. Sho, what can you tell us? Sho: Oh, it is madness here in Osaka City! "Futuristic Player" is playing on the speakers, everybody is singing along, a couple of effigies of Kuro and Hisa are being lit and incinerated and people are dancing around them in a circle...I saw a few crowd surfers and more streakers go up and down. They feel that this race is over, when technically, it's not, at least not yet. This was a great, great result for all of Osaka, not just Senriyama Girls' High. The party is going to last until Saturday night. No one will be sleeping in this town, you can bet on that. It's party time here in Senriyama. Back to you, Hachi. Thanks a lot, and get some rest because we're gonna be seeing you in Achiga City tomorrow, where there will be a rally for their representative from the Saki Party, Kuro Matsumi, as she takes on Hisa Takei, the Kamina of the riichi mahjong universe, at 1 a.m. JST. This is the 2channel Anime Saimoe Tournament here on 2channel World. Stick with us.

It seems Nodoka's semifinal curse will continue. She doesn't even manage to get close to taking down Toki. In fact this is one of Toki's easier wins. Unlike the other Saki characters, Toki still seems to be able to bring in a fair sized number of voters even in a Saki vs Saki match. Nodoka isn't able to do that and gets crushed because of it. Just one more win for Toki to take the championship.
The other half of the all Saki semifinals is today. Hisa is here to try and take down Kuro and Kuro is trying to complete the all Side A final. Since 2005, every character to stand on the final stage finished either first or second in their preliminary group. Hisa finished 4th so history is not on her side. However, the one character that managed this feat back in 2004 was also 4th in her preliminary group. That person was Rosemary Applefield, the Saimoe 2004 champion. For the most part, Kuro has looked good in all of her matches. She easily defeated Nyaruko despite Ryuuka being in the match and destroyed Ririchiyo the round after that. She had some trouble with her sister and fellow Saki powerhouse Matsumi Yuu but that still makes Kuro one of the strongest characters in the tournament. After Hisa's close calls with Shana and Cure Peace, I can't see her being on the same level as Kuro. Kuro will meet Toki in the finals. Vote: Matsumi Kuro Prediction: Matsumi Kuro

Well, that was a lopsided loss for Nodoka. So much for being the strongest contender among the other three not named Toki. She choked in the Semifinals yet again, and failed to follow in Mami's footsteps. The Saki old guard's time is up alright.
If that's what a Saki old guard vs Saki new blood match is like these days, then I'd be leaning towards Kuro to win her match against Hisa. Then again, this is Toki we are talking about... Since I like Kuro more than Hisa (and I did mark her as a good end girl), she'll be my pick for the current match.
