I liked it.
There's a few problems here and there - Mikuru calls herself a 'clueless newbie' for example - but for the most part they really capture each of the character's subtle quirks and differences that make them entertaining and fun. Haruhi is suitably exhuberant - it's hard to get a personality as steam-rollerish as hers wrong - Yuki is quiet (she's a lot more creepy in the manga than she is cute, but still cool), Mikuru is suitably clueless. Itsuki is a bit hit and miss to me, but that might just be his entire personality - he's always been a hit-and-miss to me in whatever medium he shows up in. Bottom line, the manga is superbly translated. I'll pick up Volume 2 when it comes out in March. I'm a little pissed there weren't any manga extras like there were in Genshiken and stuff, but I suppose the mangaka didn't make any and besides they used it as a chance to promote their oddly literal novel translation. Man, I can and have written a better translation than them. |

If I recall correctly, Yuki always came off as creepy at first, then the perception altered, either during her long speech (or more honestly at the giving of tea bit) or while she and Kyon were at the library.

Plus, manga has extra stories not in the novels. Don't think Tanigawa had anything to do with them, though, unlike Someday in the Rain.
If I had money I'd pick it up, but all my funds are being directed towards Chrono Trigger and Re: Chain of Memories right now. Also, I finally completed Persona 3, so I'll have more free time now. To play Fate/Stay Night, heh. |

I certainly hope that these'll get released on my side of the Pacific! EDIT: Just checking RightStuf, and amongst the Haruhi merchandise, the figures they have for order include the Figma Guitar Wizard Yuki! |

My computer table already have my PC, laptop and a LCD TV. My other table already have other figurines which includes the Super Director haruhi, Combat Waitress Mikuru and Alien Witch Yuki.
Anyway, placing them on my computer table is just way too dangerous for them. |

It's about whether there is enough supplies to meet demands. You know how those crazy otaku will snap everything up in a matter of hours (minutes even) after the pre order is open online. Recall the first batch of Max's Haruhi and GSC's Mikus. I, fortunate enough, had ties in Japan which I can pull strings about to help me secure all 3 figs. That is if I choose to. |

http://search.japantimes.co.jp/cgi-b...0081028zg.html The company: http://www.aso-group.jp/# And on side news, the SGD is 1.53 to the USD. Which is pretty low, and remember that the Yen is quite closely linked to USD. Singapore buyers, beware.
