Its because the Character Designer of Sagitarius Seiya was Umakoshi, and the Character Designer of Titan was Keichi Ychikawa that worked at Ring ni Kakero with Araki, so his style is more classic, while Umakoshi style's is more modern.

i like sagittarius spiky wing

and now i like mars-abzu cloth design very much.
this crystal obsession crap cloth design is just terrible...

and im right... next episode is class-3 garbage pallasite filler episode

Just because they're third class, it doesn't mean it's "filler". It's not like Kouga, Ryuhou and Souma had an easy time beating Tarvos and Loge.

I think the jewels are just a way to keep some resemblance to Umakoshi's designs - where the jewels were references to the clothstones.

Maybe the Gundams in Gundam 00 kinda have shiny round parts on their bodies, but most Gundams in the franchise don’t have big crystals and jewels on them

I think you haven't been paying attention - the Libra cloth had always been Shiryu's. Genbu only took it cos Shiryu had cosmic aids during the first season.

Actually, it had been Dohko's until he bit the dust. Also it's whacked cuz of how popular dude showed us he was (according to the poll) he dies and Shiryu gets the cloth.

As much as I disliked Genbu's death, at least it shows that Toei is willing to kill popular characters. At first I thought Mars and Sonia were going to be brought back but considering Eren's words they were killed for real.

Speaking of course in Omega timeline where Dohko is already dead for more than 10+ years from the start - so the Libra cloth is still Shiryu's before Genbu took it.

Also I think you will be hard press to claim that Genbu is more popular than Shiryu anyway. I would put good money in saying that the fans who wants Shiryu back as the Libra Saint are far more in number than those who wants to see Genbu kept alive. So yes this is actually a popularity contest where Shiryu won. I would say they made the mistake of making Genbu the good guy in the first season instead of setting up a Ryuho vs Genbu fight as it should have been (or perhaps they could do a Camus vs Hyoga thing where Genbu is still the good guy but wanted to help Ryuho achieve seven sense and dies in the battle), because otherwise they would have had a much better time dealing with the current situation than what they have right now.
