OMG I'd totally love to be able to Cosplay as all of my favourite anime characters....
But I just can't afford to, and it's not really the "done thing" as such here in the UK either... (Except for at the odd anime convention, which aren't very often) It's a real shame really....What I wouldn't give to live in Japan or the USA purely for this reason alone, where Cosplaying is a natural part of everyday life in people's worlds |

There are many anime-manga mall conventions in NY and you get to see a lot of cosplays.
You can get all the clothes and accessories for cosplaying your fave characters there itself. Unfortunaltely, its not necessary that you'll get it for your fave character |

Here are some more pics of the same cosplayer:
Spoiler for Random:
Not just that she is the most beautiful cosplayer I have ever seen, those hand-made outfits of hers seems to have been made with top-notch skill, not mentioning that the material is also very high quality. Its almost like she is the "Queen of Cosplay"! |

The rest of his costume is very cool and obviously well-made, but the six-foot long buster sword is just stupid. Sorry, but no cosplayer can look good with a buster sword that, if it were actually made of metal, would way more than they do. Actually, come to think of it, it's the same for many anime/game characters in general.

Some cosplayers are girls who'd like to become models... others are simply cute girls who have found a niche in being a cosplay idol - some have been able to turn it into income via photo gigs, gallerybooks, etc. One cosplayer has even turned it into a bookwriting career.
At the bigger anime cons, you will occasionally see professional models dressed as cosplay -- but they sometimes "out" themselves when they turn out to know nothing about the character.

Her Yuki is nerdier looking than most... since I, unlike Kyon, am definitely a glasses man, I approve.
After seeing Midori Kanda and Ibara's Toradora shoot on triblo, I figured it would only be a matter of time before Ibara's Ami showed up on MPZero. MPZero's super saturated colours make her wig look a bit strange, but as a big fanboy of both Ibara and Toradora, I figured I'd pass it along anyway. Other MPZero picks from the past couple weeks: Minami Hazuki as Ranka Lee. I kind of wish there were pics of her doing the nyan-nyan dance though. ZeroInch as Asuka in both regular and loli forms. ZeroInch seems to have a Tomoyo like ability to cosplay as little girl characters. Chiya Torigae as Mai and Kanae Hiiragi as Sayuri, respectively. Individual shoots available here and here. I like them as a duo, although I feel that Chiya's chin is a little narrow for cosplaying a Key character. (Okay Key fans, it's a joke. Don't kill me.) |
