Problem with Norton 2004
When i installed Norton Antivirus 2004 it wasn't working properly, and when i tried to reinstall and uninstall it, it won't let me.
So, does anyone know of a way for me to uninstall it from my PC? I've tried deleting the directory but i can't, and i haven't got any help from seaching the net. |

And you pay for it too. The last time I used Norton software was back in 91... Norton Utilities 2 for DOS Even then they already sucked major ass. I've seen so much disasters with computers that contain Norton software. Tip: use McAffee. As for curing yourself of the Norton virus, mostly a complete register clean and data removal will do the trick. If not a nice clean Format c:/q command will help. good luck |

I had a customer who's NAV2004 install went awry a while back. I spent an hour and a half trying to reinstall it, remove files and registry keys, all the usual troubleshooting stuff. Nothing worked. Eventually, I had to completely blow to system install away. It's amazing how tightly NAV gets tied in to the OS.
Before you try that though, look in the temporary/program installation directories (I think under UserName/Application Data or UserName/Local Settings or the like [substitute your current username for UserName, of course]). You'll find a VERY verbose installation log. You might find something that helps in there. |
