She says she's working on wrapping it up, but any new volumes will be published after the new publisher finishes reprinting the old volumes.

Plot sounds like it will be a 'mystery case of the week' thing. But let's see how it will work out.

Last week, someone on 2ch posted this exact same staff list before it was revealed. He also said it would be a 24 episode series, so that might also be true...

Pardon me but... isn't it part of the staff of Heroman (Nanba, Kawamoto etc)?

Yes, it's almost entirely the core staff of Heroman, making it the next A Studio project at BONES.

Hm, staff looks solid enough, but the main concern that this is different from BONES usual fair (though after reading the second book, my expectations were upped, Tokoypop having done a crappy job on it aside)

I'm interested in knowing who'll work on the music on this though.

As long as it's not another fail like Heroman.

At least it isn't written by Akatsuki Yamatoya...

Not like Mari Okada is any better, though.

Well, aside from Nanba directing, I'm really okay with the rest of the staff. And regarding Nanba, it's pure bias, since the only show he directed that I watched was HEROMAN. And I don't really think something on that level could be saved, so blaming the guy alone for the disaster that it turned out to be is being quite unfair!

But January 2011? Ouch, I'm looking forward to this and hearing there's still another 6 months of waiting pains me. I hope we get a teaser of some sort in the near future, although I'm doubtful of it. And while I'm at it, and since dreaming doesn't cost a thing, a name for the composer, heh.

Not too bad I suppose. Since it's a solid story, hopefully it won't be butchered.

Yeah, I'm just as curious about the music composer as well. There's a good potential for some very nice Victorian and gothic inspired tracks for the series. The second book indeed raised my impression of the series and had me wondering how BONES would handle some of it's aspects (and yes, Tokyopop's release was just... ).

If she could do the same work she did with Tatakau Shisho (light novel too), that'd be fine by me.

I'm going to make a predication here that the thing I'll love the most about this will be the score. There is really some high potential for it,especially since it will help set the right mood for the events.

Spoiler for just to be on the safe side:

oh god, tell me about it. some of the mistakes were just embarrassing to read (and to add salt to the whole thing, they delayed for so long) I have no idea how they couldn't even notice some of these mistakes.

I don't know, that anime seemed like it started to fall apart near the ending.

That's so true, especially since each new story seems to take place in a different location, there's also a good chance for some variety in the music score.

My mind unconsciously auto-corrected the mistakes as I read, so I could not recall what exactly were the mistakes , but I certainly do know I came across a few... such a shame =/. Don't even get me started on the overall presentation. Those cover designs were so half-assed and they skimped on the colour ink. I simply cannot imagine why was it necessary to even make a new cover when the originals were so gorgeously illustrated.

That looks quite good. I haven't seen the original material aside from the covers in the first post of this thread, but it seems like a very nice adaptation of it. Our little loli wannabe Holmes' looking gorgeous.
