Ah - well, what I meant by artbox was that the R1 release will have an actual box of some sort to hold all 4 DVDs, which is something the R2 release didn't have in this case (though, certainly, the packaging was still very nice anyway).

I could understand trying to make them look funny and like they have low production values (similar to episode 00/1 of the TV series). This would be logical in keeping with the idea that they were made by a school club, not a major Hollywood movie studio. However, the characters ought to at least know how the correct way to pronounce eachother's names, and they should all speak to eachother in the same language. At least to my way of thinking.... |

I think they should've just stopped at Episode 00 with that scheme, I'm very sure the marketers’ have better minds than to keep leaning on the concept. Also, being an American, and knowing how impatient the mainstream is, I doubt the marketing will appeal much. I do believe one of the first things brought up in the beginning of Episode 01 was something along the lines of "if you don't understand at all.. it's okay!" Honestly, if I had the thinking of a mainstream-er, I would have been quite creeped out. xP It's not too bad, though, I'm just thinking worst-case scenario wise. Aside from that, I'm definitely buying whatever they have for us R1-ers, i'd like to go through the experience again in higher quality (and perhaps English, if they work that out alright). xD |

After seeing how first season Negima and *particularly* Tsukuyomi Moon Phase were marketed in America via their trailers.... I'll lay money the marketeers haven't watched more than one or two episodes and base the entire marketing plan off those first couple of episodes. Thus they have really have no idea what comes later
Already allocating the money for the R1 but I'll admit I'm *very* interested in seeing how they handle the dub (much less the translation) - especially in episode 5 during Nagato's monolog.

So, anyone else thinks Bandai will butcher the DVD release of Haruhi like they did with both R1 seasons of GitS:SAC? Meaning: The same exact trailers throughout season 1 AND 2, boring interviews with staff members and a handful of line artwork.
No alternate OP's or ED's, no special promotional trailers, etc. God i hate Bandai due to their laziness. Maybe they'll correct their past mistakes with Haruhi, I can only hope. |
