Well... so far nothing special.
The middle ages setting is something slightly different. Going to war by force was not fun at all. The battlefield part was interesting though. Having mixed feelings about this anime.. Gonna give it a few more episodes before I decide.

This seems very interesting. I liked it, and the manga is pretty good as well (I just read it).
This may be one of my favorites this season completely unexpectedly. Also, the opening is SOOOOOOO GOOOD. I love that music.

This was just sooo good. I... rewatched it like 4 times already. It was very entertaining. Not only that, the art style is quite attractive and simple. I know I have seen this type of art style many times but I just can't seem to remember another show with it... but yeah. Good stuff.

"A Pure Maiden"
I generally felt positive towards this episode, but the whole "virgin" shtick felt surprisingly secondary rather than the headliner of the show. I guess that could be taken as a good sign that Taniguchi/Masayuki Ishikawa set their priorities straight in this oddball venture? We'll keep an eye on this one.

"But why her jaw?"
Oh lord, she's innocent to the core. And to be so embarressed by a hand kiss and yet declare she would have no problem with losing her virginity to a dog while having no clue what her succubi meant with "fetish". XDDD A very nice first episode, I remember reading that manga ages ago, maybe I should check it out again. Hope next episode will be as entertaining.^^ |

Very interesting.
Neat setting you don't see much. And the rough amaterish melee of an army comprised mostly of farmers was well done. lol @ the rant and reference to Joan of Arc at the end. The french/english/british dynamic looks really interesting. Maria character design reminds me of Dragon Quest. From the talking witches in the trees, about their succubus trying their best. Am I taking it that they use their succubus to drain the men so that they're too tired to go to war?

The characters are okayish but it's the setting that piques my curiosity. The atmosphere of the Hundred Years War feels convincing enough and I'm interested in how witches play a part in it.
Good première.

for those who want to know the myth/truth? A commonly repeated legend claims that the two-fingered salute or V sign derives from a gesture made by longbowmen fighting in the English and Welsh[21] army at the Battle of Agincourt (1415) during the Hundred Years' War. According to the story, the French were in the habit of cutting off the arrow-shooting fingers of captured English and Welsh longbowmen, and the gesture was a sign of defiance on the part of the bowmen, showing the enemy that they still had their fingers,[10][22] .... |

Besides, if you think about it, the bowmen were usually placed too far away for the enemy to see a gesture such as this (and the enemy would be too distracted, anyway). And when the enemy was close enough to see the gesture the bowmen were already distracted with fighting for their lives... |
