Pros:
-Good Ending and Opening. I'm especially pleased with the former since I wasn't originally digging the song, but with the sequence it looks good.
-Rosa "Best Mom Ever" mode was good
-Voices were good for all characters
-Ushiromiya backstory about the Kanto earthquake was included, which is good since that was a part I was sure would have gotten cut earlier.
-The backgrounds were good. I prefer the parlor being white, but this is okay too.
-Music was also good. Obviously more new tracks than rearranged, but it's all still good.
-I liked the cracking glass and that they used the clocks from the original game.
Cons:
-Adults didn't nearly talk as much
-Comedy was limited to Battler's perviness at the most (and Eva's beeps for the censored verison
)
-The pacing was
incredibly fast compared to the VN, especially with the parental discussion. Natsuhi gets introduced and barely a minute later she goes off on Eva.
-The majority of the episode either Battler or Kinzo was talking, from the looks of it. Meanwhile poor Kyrie and Genji got like one or two lines and Shannon got zero screen time compared to her role in the VN up the rose garden scene.
-A lot of important scenes were cut out, like Shannon being scolded during dinner serving.
Out of 10 I give this episode a 7. It's the first episode so I'll let it slide, but hopefully the next episode's pacing won't be nearly as quick.
And yes Sterling, Kanon = Lelouch without hair gel or evil purple eyes.
