I think a 9 is a bit generous, a 7.5-8 is more suitable. It did have one of the best first episodes of any any anime I have seen though. Anyone know the age gap between Mamoru and Ayako?

It's a weird series TBH. Also alot of groups are having the usual trouble of finding translators. They seem to be in short supply right now (more than usual).

As for the age, its only about 2 or 3 years max i think. Mamoru is just a small guy, you can see it when he stands next to his class mates.

I would probably agree. Although I am totally enjoying the series I'm not sure if it really deserved a "9".

Well, they are both in high school, which in Japan means a maximum of two years difference if Mamoru is a 1st year and Ayako is a 3rd year (remember Japanese high school is only three years instead of four). I don't think it was ever explicitly said which year each is in.

From wiki. "Mamoru is a short high school student, who just transferred to a new and prestigious school due to his high intellect".

Basically there in the same grade he just transfered from another school. And, he is short. Nothing more nothing less.

lol it both right and way of the mark >.<

I dont think they're in the same grade however. She's the same age as the pre, where as mamoru is a freshman (his status is coverd in the first ep).

The school isnt 'new' if it was then they'd all be new students. His acceptance to the school seems to be more with his beatrice ability than his brains though. Or atleast that was the impression i got.

I thought it was the other way around. IIRC they said he had some of the highest test score in the history of the school but his "practical" Beatrice abilities as shown in the anime don't seem that well developed. So I assumed it was more he excelled at the written or theoretical stuff.

He was even doing a lot of extra-curricular Beatric practice with Emelenzia at one point, becuase he did not want to dissapoint Akayo with another set of poor results on his practical tests.

Perhaps it is the Beatrice though. Just because hes crap at school doesn't mean hes not better than the average person, in fact can't most people not use Beatrice. Then again I always thought it was for his theoretical and written stuff but I guess there can be a case for circumstances if not a mix of the two.

The test he sat was a voluntry beatrice test, and he got the 7th highest result in the schools history. Hence his acceptance. According to a mate who has read the novels, the test just tests his ability to use beatrice, not his level of competence to use it.

Basiclly its testing his talent for beatrice.

On a seperate note, why the hell its called beatrice is beyond me, what a pathetic name to give a special power >.<

Wow! That's fantastic news, chupacabra.

I hope you can line up another translator and continue the series, but thanks in any case for the update. It is much appreciated.

They explained the situation in this thread a few days ago -- the leader disappeared, but the rest of the staff is back and looking for help.

And on that website all I see is a Music Video ("Sweet Dreams")...

The only problem I have with Sekai's is that it seems out of focus. The raw must've been bad.
