Seems rushed already. Then again it's my illusions being broken since everyone had a long time to think about what was going to happen. It's like everything that we wanted is being given but not in the best way.

So far some things don't make it as great as its other volumes but that happens with a lot of writers and artists where they don't live up to stuff they have done before. Maybe it's because he's doing two novels and a manga?

ITs too soon to judge and there is still time to wait for more volumes, but true to it NT doesn't seem to be as good as the previous novels even before the war.

OK, I'm quoting Vol. 02 (Deep Blood arc) afterwords:

Miki-san, who's in charge of editing, is someone really intimidating who forced me to write a story within 17 days. He still followed me through until the end of this story that has loopholes all over it, and I'm really grateful for him.

Which reminds me that volume is one of my favorites due to the emotional part from Auroulus' failures and sadness .

We get Auroulus because Kamachi-sensei had a dead-line. That answers why Himegami's role somehow got stuck. I wonder when only we get to see vampires..

We need more heartbreaking stories where everything is lost and never will be back (hope Okashira gets this point) instead crazy ladies trying to save a country via a coup d'tat or poor reasons to become a villain like a little dead brother like Vento (seriously!?) =___=.

Just a quick question: shouldn't the way the events in chapter 1 have gone mean that Mikoto has just found out that Index lives in Touma's apartment?

Does Kamachi address this at all in NT2, or does he just let it go without comment?

I ask because that's been one scene I've been waiting to see for ages: Mikoto should have a truly *epic* reaction when she *finally* finds out where Index has been living this whole time.

And while I'm here: I'd agree with Wilfriback that at least in translation Volume 2 is one of the better arcs.

In particular it set up what I thought was a neat formula: Touma "wins" by figuring out the plot's plot holes and then exploiting them. I have to wonder if the whole "if Aurolus can make things happen with words why does he need a vampire?" angle started out as a comment from the editor -- "Kamachi, you've got a huge plothole here, don't you?" -- that then got turned into *the* plot.

Himegami seems like she originated as "wouldn't it be funny to have a nun and a miko getting catty with each other all the time?" but got more-or-less dropped because it wasn't actually that funny / versatile moving forward.

For Mikoto, Touma alive >> Touma living with Index. If Touma plays this right he can build-up his harem with all the harem's consent.

Unabara's face probably symbolizes his "desire" to stay in Academy City and the science side, which would also explain why Xochitl hates it.

Also being eaten by the grimoire means losing your sanity; if you are thinking of Xochitl, well; had her "will" "eaten" by the grimoire and lost control of herself, with that she "sliced her own skin off", but that was because the grimoire needed her body for it's magic; not because the grimore eating her for breakfast. Xochitl herself stated that Etzali had more control over the book and thus that wasn't going to happen to him

About that talk about how the story lost tragedy and such; you know, I always thought that in the first volumes, when the drawing was more adult like, Kamachi was appealing to a more mature fanbase; but when the point got that the story already got a big fanbase Kamachi had to "tone down" the story in that point in order to adequate to the characteristics (age focus) of the fanbase; that also meant having Kiyotaka change to a more SDish drawing style.

I mean all of our three heroes had been given their lolis.

Index the loli of Magic World was given to Kamijou Touma.
Last Order the loli of Science World was given to Accelerator.
Fremea the loli of the Ordinary World was given to Hamazura Shiage.

But what they didn't know was the existence of The One Loli.
Then came Bardway (I'm still on denial and I don't want to be on someone's list and have assassins coming for me) being The One Loli.

One Loli to rule them all,
One Loli to find them,
One Loli to bring them all
and in the Harem bind them.

I'd say instead of calling Bardway Birdway let's call her from now on The One Loli.
