I think the first episode will probably be a loose adaptation of the new year chapter. Either way, I doubt they'll pick up right where they left off since it would mean the first episode wouldn't have any Gintoki (would have lots of anpan though

).

I'm also expecting a good 2 minutes of this of course:

Gintama is one of the best comedy series i've seen. i didnt follow the manga chapters covered in the anime but i did for the ones not covered when it ended. i have no idea how many episodes in the first 4 years were fillers but i like everyone of them. though i did skip out on one half episode bc the subject.

The craziness that is Gintama is finally back! +1 reason to live. Agree with Kanon that the ED is better than OP. Actually the only OP that was better than the ED counterparts was DONTEN imo.

Poor Shinpachi , that was very funny with Otae & Gorilla specially the "three of us" xD
OP was fine for me & ED very nice.
Looking forward for next ep !
Btw , the movie , even thought it was Benizakura's remake , it was great ^^

Omg. That was hilarious. Gintama at its best, when it's not trying to emulate its shonen brethern with stupid story arcs that belong in Bleach, but sticks to what it does best, which are gag episodes.

That scene with Shinpachi and Kyubei was just so lol.

Edit: Also, good to see it finally making the move to 16:9.

If you're past the Yagyuu arc (episode 80-ish), then you should be fine.

For now yeah. There's characters that appear past episode 80 that will be in the second season (in the OP), so i also recommend you watch more of the first season.

Kagura-chan is lovely~

As is Kyuubei, minus the new organ she has now
I didn't expect such a change for Sadaharu at all, that had me on the ground so fast.

OP/END were nice imo

I laughed so hard I almost choked when I saw Otose, Catherine and Tama's face. Kagura-saaaaaan!! Post-timeskip Kyubey looks good too, but that babel tower is a problem... So glad Gintama is back! (and in HD to boot!). Not too fond of the new opening. I like the ending though. __________________

Spoiler for Episode 202: It's a brilliant concept to mess around with the whole time skip idea, especially when done in classic Gintama fashion. So many hilarious changes, with some great Dragon Ball references during the first few scenes . Gotta say the most hilarious moment of the episode had to be Otae and Kondo . Seen that coming from a mile away, but so hilarious. Same with Kyubey having genitles. It'll be hilarious seeing what else has changed next week. Rather like the OP and the ED.
