Well I've started playing Gundam Assault Survive. Pros and cons... it's greatly expanded the scope of the Gundam Battle games, but the mechanics are still similar and it's quite fun. Also, you can get perks depending on how you answer questions - with the help of a guide and the Japanese wiki, I got the Tech God perk, which means I can fly anything.
Okayish character gen, and so far it's fun. If a bit tricky. -_-;

Gundam Duel Company beta testing. Has it's good and bad sides, but I'm only playing using the default 'rental' card deck, so it's probably not fair to judge (especially when your opponent has the Strike Gundam, The RX-78, Casval's Gundam, and Strike Rouge against my 4 piddly Zakus). Will play more when I get the official cards in.
Oh, by the way: My Squadron in-game:

I suggest playing the game for free first using the rental deck online. If it's something you'd like to invest in, then go for it. It's not going to appeal to everybody, though. Trying to make a TCG work as a browser game at the same time is tough.
...that and whenever someone puts a Gundam on the field, you know you're screwed regardless (unless you have your own Gundma on your side, and no the Ground Combat Gundam doesn;t count.)

I heard that Gundam Duel Company browser game went live last week but apparently only in South East Asia as opposed to internationally and still as a very early Ver. 0 beta game. I confirmed this when I tried to register from Canada using the website they set up for countries outside Japan only to be informed that the registration attempt was rejected due to my country of origin. I guess they want to work out the bugs before it really goes full on international.
edit: Okay managed to slip in by claiming to be from Japan but man the Engrish menu layout and interface makes this game practically incomprehensible to play right now. Going to have to wait for it to pass the beta phase and get a more official international release at least before this becomes accessible and something I'd want to spend time on. My friend who was vacationing in Australia last week said he found a shop that sells the cards, so that's expected.
Would be kind stupid to have a region that says "Outside of Japan" and it not literally work anywhere that's considered outside Japan. They should have made the region labels better if they sere blocking some. Then again, it could be a temporary thing. Now I just need to learn how to play the bloody game.....>__>

Its about time a new SRW is announced for 3DS (nintendo portable). And I hope Heroic Age makes it! From Gundam series, I want to see F91 or Cross Bone make its appearance again. Oh yeah. Anyone else here who plays Gundam DC? I hope Zeta Gundam will appear as R6 in the next booster! Freedom is confirmed to come out. Anyway, 10 more days~ |
