I'm not an expert on bishonens but from what I saw 99% had short hair. It's kinda painful to let alto fall into that group

Anyway, it's only a design art. Nothing to fret about. Those get produced and chengaed on daily basis

Actually I'm sure most dudes categorized as "bishounen" are actually long haired rather than short XD Mostly because it's easier to make them beautiful if their silhouette is like a woman; (*coughFireemblem7luciusCOUGH*)

In many a case, short haired 'bishounen' are just made into bishounen by fanartists or like...drastic style change.

If you think about it, the original Cloud for FFVII wasn't exactly bishounen >_> He was kinda short, muscular just simply boyish but....the fans drew him all girly, then squeenix became fanhoggers and made absolutely everything into pretty boys;



Also I think....at this stage of animu, characters having drastic appearance changes like haircuts aren't really all too uncommon?

Though as much as I'd like to have a short haired Alto wearing lolita with sheryl, as forgottendiary says....it's prolly safer to treat it as a rumor.

The sketch style is exceedingly questionable (most of the sketches have way longer legs for ranka o_O; and that wing on 'alto' seems like a copy from the monster girl)

The sketches in the livejournal too, where those sketches already pre-existing o_o; I'm sure one of the sheryl outfits (Halter shirt/dress thing) already popped out in the artbook coloured in green.

Agreed, although I still can't picture those hordes of long hair bishonens It's true that male characters nowadays are portrayed in a very bishonen type of way. It's funny that it somewhat depends on the character and the statements of other characters in series itself. You can see extravagantly beautiful boys everywhere but only a handful of them are called 'bishonen'. Now why is that?

You know, I'd laugh if the AC Cloud was composed of 5 pixels + 3 for the sword .... Still, I wouldn't mind it all that much

And yeah, sketches can be quite deceiving
