Hmm, let's see.... (this is just my assumption of her thinking) IIRC Kotori got the mail and wanted to tell Honoka about it, but circumstances prohibited her from doing so. I also remember that the mail has a deadline. That's why she chose to accept the offer, because there's still an option of aborting it (of course it must have big consequences too) rather than declining right away because things are still hectic on her end. This way, she's got a few days of preparation and she's planning to use the remaining time to tell her friends, but things turned out bad (when Umi announced about it in the party). The following days, Kotori didn't go to school to prepare herself (since it's already "too late") and I believe part of the reason is that she wants to distance herself from her friends since it'll make her more sad. (Hence why she went to airport only with her Mom, and still cries on the goodbye). The time Honoka came to her, well... the stimulation must be too strong for her Anyway, I know the whole thing is obvious, but my point is that she accepted the offer because she can always abort it later (of course, I'm talking about the worst case scenario). I have no problems with her changed her decision. Didn't everyone in LL went through the same thing? even Honoka too in this episode (Making Muse, quitting, and then rejoin again). It's just Kotori's problem is much bigger. That's why it's unfortunate to make her abort her study just like that. And we already know that this is coming, so that's why I thought her drama in the last 3 episodes wasn't needed in the first place.

And no i wouldnt go out of my way to go to a love live convention to say that, but since this is a internet forum i dont see the damn problem anyway idiots aside, the 2nd series should be alot better if they actually focus on the love live and not cliche character problems and plot points (like the school is gonna close) too many anime has use that trope already to make it interesting

All right the run over by a bus was a bad comment to make,my bad and all jokes should have smiles at the end, its hard to tell which are jokes in text (noticed you edited in that april fools crap, in which case a smile or wink is definetly needed, to separate ur opinion from a joke)

ok finish, as predicted Kotori just waiting for her BFF Honoka to stop her. cliche I know, but I understand completely I'm missing Honoka already ;( , is this really the end? where's the S2!!!!!!
anyway liked the full version of start:dash, but boy that's a minor miracle there filling the whole auditorium in such short notice, like what 2hours at the most? They seriously have rabid fans & star power to make everyone drop everything just to watch them. I mean they didn't even have time to change into costume, which on the other hand I like, it's kinda different from the usual ultra-colorful over the top, cheesy designs of idols in anime & IRL, which really really contributes to my general dislike of Idols per se.

Episode 12:
ARGGHHH...the cheese in this episode. All this show was missing was after the live Honoka hopping into a green convertible with Kotori and driving off into the sunset. Some of the dialogue in this episode is just very vague and uninspired, like with Eri's speech to Honoka, the whole time I was just wondering, "okay its great that you have courage, but what are you trying to say?" The final live was kind of underwhelming to me as well; I liked Start: Dash better when it was just the three of them. The show kind of fizzled here a bit in the final, but I still really like the series. The pacing of the series made it easy to get into, and it was great fun for most of its run. I'm a sucker for Hanada Jukki's writing despite his penchant for shoehorning silly drama into his stories. There is definitely more story to be told as well. 2nd season please.

Hmm, Honoka's been the center 3 times (PV1,2,4), Nico and Kotori 1 time (PV3 and PV5 respectively). The other girls also became the center in the B side songs (not PV-ed, though): Rin (Yuujou no Change), Kotori (baby maybe Koi no button), Eli (Mermaid festa Vol. 1), Maki (Aishiteru Banzai!), Hanayo (Oh, Love & Peace!).
That leaves Nozomi and Umi who hasn't been the center.

Very predictable but decent enough ending, I suppose. Having Kotori staying really cheapens the drama of the previous episode for me. I particularly do not like how it was Honoka who brought her back. It should have been Kotori's decision and hers alone. I was also easily influenced by my friends when I was her age and I bitterly regret some of the choices I made now. But of course this is a light-hearted anime, so everything will turn out all right for her.
Honoka's development was nicely handled. She realized on her own (albeit with a lot help from her friends) that she loved being an idol. This I liked. I also loved that Nico, Hayano and Rin didn't give up on becoming idols just because Honoka left and formed their own little group. I could feel how dedicated they are to becoming idols. This was the first idol show I watched and I ended up liking it quite a bit, but I'm not all that much into the whole idol thing. I enjoyed the character interaction and the training sessions more than the actual concerts.

__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ ______________________ Good fuckin gawd, I absolutely loved the last episode. It was kinda obvious that everything was gonna work out in the end, but how it was all resolved was really satisfying. I don't even care how Kotori blowing off studying abroad at the last minute to stay seemed to be selfish. Being selfish to fulfill Honoka's selfish desire to become school idols is perfectly okay in my book. The last performance was really awesome, too. It was well-animated and had a decent blend of 2D and CG. It was also pretty fitting for μ's to perform START : DASH!! in the auditorium. They even played the entire song. And I guess Kotori and Maki's moms know each other? And the members of A-RISE watched the performance. That's cool. And lol at Honoka's dad tearing at the end. As for the possibility of a second season, there better be one. D: Really enjoyed this series. It's definitely my choice for most underrated show of Winter 2013. |
