i was refering more to the fact that Demon Soul's has sold over 250k in the US (in about a month and a half) which is pretty good since there was minimal to no press on it (so world wide it's hit over 400k. While it is made by the same company as king's field the game play is significantly different that it's not the same series. But yeah this is going off topic...

I own a Wii and I think many of the people that say it's crap really are missing a lot of gems. I mean it's one thing to not be interested in the genres on the system, but I know a lot of people who complain without even acknowledging amazing games like Little King's Story. On the flipside, considering how many of these gems sell poorly I guess you can't blame them.. it's really just a shame how many of these gems are missed.

Next year Super Mario Galaxy, No More Heroes and Sin & Punishment 2 are my most anticipated games so I'm really excited to be a Wii owner. The only games for other systems I'm getting so far are Birth by Sleep, Gold & Silver and FFXIII. Possibly 3 Dot Heroes and Modnation Racers for PS3 as well. Will also get Graces if it comes by the end of the year, and Arc Rise Fantasia, Sky Crawlers, Shiren & Fragile Dreams hold my interest... all for Wii!

2009 has definitely been the best time for Wii in terms of third party support so far. Rune Factory, Little King's Story, Bit Trip Series, Muramasa, MadWorld, Conduit, Overkill, Darkside Chronicles, Crystal Bearers, Anno, Boy and His Blob etc... if you really pay attention there really is a lot of compelling stuff released on the console.

To be clear, when I referred to getting games cheaper, I didn't mean getting them second-hand. Stores drop their prices after some time. Unless, of course, it's a Nintendo game. Then all bets are off as to when it'll get a price drop.

I saw Rune Factory was mentioned earlier, anyone know when its due out? I am not a fan of importing and am hoping for a UK release. I got the wii for Tales of Symphonia and Harvest Moon. These two games justify the price alone.

Rune Factory Frontier is listed in Rising Star Games 2010 Q1 line-up, so that can take a while until we get it, q1 ends in april(?).

Does someone know...?
If you use Wi-Fi (Say, for Pokemon Battle Revolution), does the firmware for your Wii automatically get updated? I think I heard that it does somewhere before...
I'm wondering because there are certain software that only work on older firmware (My current one), and I don't want to update the Wii. But I'm worried that it will automatically update for me if I use it...

Shouldn't do it. Afaik the Wii OS is microkernel system, new firmwares only add new IOS modules. So basically you can update the IOS modules, without changing the system version. However some function, such as load VC and Wiiware games from SD card will not be available on older system versions, since the GUI doesn't have the feature on it. If you want to play import games, i suggest that you install the homebrew channel and use GeckoOs, instead of freeloader or action replay, since GeckoOs will install the required IOS on the game disc, if needed.
As for Wifi, if you access the shop channel with an old IOS or system version, it will ask you to do s system update, it can be bypass by installing the new shop channel, check wiibrew.com for tools required. Anyway i recommend that you install bootmii as boot2, if you can, before doing anything that is related with homebrew applications, just to be safe.

This week releases were:

JPN
PokePark Wii: Pikachu no Daibouken
Sengoku Musou 3
New Super Mario Wii
Tokyo Friend Park II Ketteiban: Minna de Chousen! Taikan Attraction
Takumi Restaurant wa Daihanjou!

Next week
JPN
Tales of Graces
Fullmetal Alchemist: Daughter of the Dusk
Toshinden
Winning Eleven 2010 Play maker
Family Trainer 2

NA
Silent Hill: Shattered Memories

Looks like NA and PAL regions are getting nothing exciting until next year, well NA still have Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers coming out on the 26/Dec/2009, but that's it.

I don't think so. I play Mario Kart Wii online and never had to update.

Edit: Ah, answered already.

TALES OF GRACES NEXT WEEK! Even if I can't play it, wooo!

Interesting stats :3

The ratio men/women who have/play on wii is more or less 50/50. The Wii (and I heard the same about the DS) is very popular among female gamers (and IIRC, it's the same in France )

Capcom's (almost) same day release in all region business model. More publisher should take a example from them.

From what I can tell... It's a different publisher releasing RF:F in Europe. Does X-Seed not publish in Europe?
