With the way it is now, I think I need another 4 months for me to finally read bungaku shoujo vol 5 Considering your guys reviews though, it seems pretty interesting and worth to wait.

The story is pretty much the same as the movie, just type "book girl movie" in google, where you can read it in wiki. The only difference is, that the book is 100000000000x better than the movie, which was imo rushed. Moreover, the influence of Takeda Chia wasnt mentioned. If I tell you more, you wouldnt have fun reading it, believe me

And in about a year and a half, the series will be finished translated. Volume 6 is you usual Bungaku Shoujo story, but so much drama in 7-8, which will end the volumes.

I really hope that YP does the side-stories. There are 3 in total, and they are when Konoha is in 3rd year with a brand new girl.

..I'm still having problems to sort my feelings after finishing the books. One line that touched me the most in this book was this:
"I want to be a huge tree with its green leaves brilliantly lush and its limbs spread wide so that you'll find me.

'And when you get tired, I hope you'll stop and rest on my branches'"

It seems so pure and had managed to cleanse all the dirty part of this volume theme by those words alone. I feel like I somehow understand how Miu felt when she heard that line recited by Tohko, and then understand how painful it was her experience was when she only got Konoha as her support. It's a good thing that this volume ends up in a good note, we could see each character has their own development and starts moving forward in their life.

I was surprised though, I didn't expect Takeda involvement in this case after watching the movie. I thought she was put here as an additional fan-service character..but it turns out that she's actually quite important. I guess everyone that appears in the colored page must have an important part in the respective volumes

...on a side note, I don't have a clear memory of vol 4... When did Konoha and Nanase starts going out?

I, too, cant remember wether they officially started dating or not, but the 4th book was... well, about Nanase, and thus Konoha and Nanase improved their relationship. But in the 5th book I think they didnt date yet, it was more like going out with a "good friend".

If I remember correctly, Nanase's relationship with Konoha has been getting stronger before this. In volume 3, there was a clear sign of it and volume 4's incidents involved Nanase as an important character.

Personally, I think that Konoha doesn't have any romantic feeling for her, but has a deep kin of friendship with her, at least from his point of view. I'm pretty much sure that Konoha would not bother staying at her side during his lifetime.

Nanase...damn, she's the kind of character I would like to see more in anime and mangas. Not just some violent tsundere, but more of her style...

Well, I guess I will start with the review. Like it was written in the fifth book, this was a side-story. It takes places 1 Month after Book 2. The purpose of this book was to show the bond between Konoha and Tooko as well as the family of Maki.

Now my opinion:

To be honest, the beginning of this book was really... weak. Why that? Because, as much as I like Book girl, the first 5 chapters werent really satisfying. Dont get me wrong, it wasnt bad, it was just.... like the dark knight rises. The movie "dark knight rises" was technically a good film. But as the second movie was superior, many fans were dissappointed. It was the same with this. I thought the drama was forced. The bold section was lame. Tragic part within the first 5 chapters were also lame. Nothing really suprising happened. It reminded me of filler arcs of Naruto (which was the reason i stopped watching the anime).

AND THEN I READ THE LAST CHAPTER (50 pages... WOW). My opinion changed. Everything that sounded lame till now somehow matched together. The "REAL" story was really interesting. It was better than Detective Conan:P
The only thing I can say is: Well played Mizuki Nomura!!!

She never ceases me to impress. With only 50 pages + Epilogue, she managed to change my mind. I guess thats the power of Nomura-Sensei.

Thus, I really cant wait for the last 2 Books!!! The only thing i will say is:
But Konoha...
Tohko Amano has a secret.

The person named Tohko Amano shouldnt exist in our world.

(There were also some hints about this in this book)

So the Bold section was written by Konoha (hint: bite the back of the hand)...Interesting. I am also curious who Maki married. It could be Takamizawa or Ryuuto, but he has already Takeda... (Maybe even Hotarus fahter) Well maybe they will tell it in the next book.

As a side note: Like I said, Book girl and the Undine Who Bore a Moonflower
takes place 1 month after Famished spirit. Therefore Hotaru will also be mentioned a few times (She even rescues Konoha ), which reminded me of Book 2, the best one in my opinion. Also I thought this book had the best jokes till now, but maybe thats only me.

Oh... and before I forget: Sayo is Badass

Just got around reading vol 6 but haven't finished it yet. The sudden mentioned of Hikaru made me scared to go further

I must say that this book offers one weird experience. It seems to me that the author wanted to make mystery or horror novel based on the book reference, but it just doesn't stick. I mean, I don't get scared like the usual horror novel or curious like mystery novel. I even find it pretty sweet that as if it's a romance genre to begin with because of Tohko and Konoha in it

There's also this feeling that I can't fully described while reading this novel.. it's like getting sucked into a realm of mystic and each time I finished reading a chapter, there's some sickeningly sweet after taste

Oh it is? So that's why i found it weird that there's no mention of Miyu and why Konoha still seem to think Nanase being angry with him.

Finally finished it, it's actually rather beautiful novel.

Also..does that mean Maki choose Ryuto as husband in the epilogue? I thought Ryuto is stuck with that yandere girl.

Well, i guess I will start again: Book Girl and the scribe who faced god 1

Volume 7 and 8 will be the finale of the series, meaning these two books will be about one story: the mystery of Amano Tohko.

At first I thought the story will be linear: I thought the story will follow the storyline, where Kanako killed Tohkos parents. Even though I should know that with Nomura-Sensei the story could drastically change anytime, I was surprised once again. There were two turning points

1) Amano Yui possibly the evil one
2) Amano Tohko imitates her mother and the thing with Ryuuto

Honestly speaking, in this book, Konoha was a sc*mb@g for the way he treated Tohko. After all the help, he speaks about betrayal... (even though later on, he decides to be by her side).

Oh.... And one more thing: How could you let MY Tohko suffer this much, Nomura-sensei The saddest scene was, when she said "I want my moms food..." It showed that even though she appeared strong, in reality she was also suffering. :´-(

The worst part of this book is its end: Right at the climax, letting me nearly go crazy and almost reading some spoiler

Yui did it all to somehow save Kana from something or Ryuutos fahter deceived her, thus there is a big misunderstanding

Summerazing it all, it was a very good prehistory for the last book. I really liked the fact, that every important character till now was mentioned at least once. Im really curious how the story will go on and how it will end.

Also reading this almost made scream 'why are there no sane person in this novel!?" when looking at the characters Terada and Ryuuto somehow becomes more creepy in this novel and Tooko-senpai was just--- ;_;

Oh and this problem might won't happen in the first place if Konoha didn't date Nanase then again, if they aren't dating then maybe Tooko's problem with her mother won't ever be concluded so it's all for the better in the end? I can't hate Nanase even when she encouraged Konoha to not write again since it's her eyes, the person she likes the most is suffering because of it. Konoha should stop playing around and keeps making both Nanase and Tooko suffers like that though :<

Also... I don't think what's happening in the past is as dark as what Konoha or Kana's book makes it to be. I think that even if it ends up as tragedy, there's an underlying happiness beneath it like everything before this book
