Seen episode thirteen, and I will like to comment that a new music score was introduced near at the end of the episode.
The song I heard I could likely associate it to play when the person that has made the contract with Ai dies, and his/her soul is carried to hell. Spoiler:
Likely that song would be included in the second OST. The old man Fukumoto, who contracted Ai, said that the first reports of the Jigoku Shoujo dated back to the Momoyama-Azuchi era, that would be mid-16th century Japan just before the Tokugawa era. Episode 25 fully discloses Ai's past from about four hundread years ago. That evidence cements plausibility and it's tempting then to say that Ai has been the first Jigoku Shoujo all along, however, IMO it cannot yet be determined. |

By the way, the official website shows that they're going to continue the series, but haven't announced any other details. For the summary and pics of this episode, click here. |

Second season of Hell Girl decided!
Jigoku Shoujo official website has posted on its announcement section that production for a second feature of Hell Girl has been decided as of today, though we cannot be sure as of yet if its going to be a second TV season or set of OVAs.

I think it'd be very interesting and thrilling if they made a live action movie. Although what can they possibly include in the second season besides all the send-people-to-hell bits they used for the majority of this season?

What they can possibly include in the second season could be 1) how was the Jigoku Tsusshin system (carrying-revenge, sending-people-to-hell) created and 2) why Ai was chosen to become the Jigoku Shoujo. The second season could also advent the arrival of a new Jigoku Shoujo relieving Ai from her duties, or maybe Ai searching for way to redemption to earn her freedom. |
