So much for posting because I could just to revive the thread...

In very very short: Toaru Majutsu no Ark is the magic side of my other fic Toaru Kagaku no Firestarter. It stars an OC, Nakano Ayane, who is just a music student in the city who gets dragged into magic affairs when her friend from France mails herself over. NHK! is her band.

Haven't used CCs yet, Touma only appears in episode 2 onwards...

Currently not yet, and no plans for the entire band to turn magic (they are all normal girls and ESPers!).

But for Ayane at least, I've been foreshadowing... stuff she does with her music that she herself doesn't notice.

Hey guys, first time posting on these forums but I thought I'd add my little contribution. I only watched the Index and Railgun animes, but I really wanted to write something after Railgun finished.

This is just a little prologue to Broken Dreams. I'm planning for it to be a Kuroko-centric fic about her trying to get to the bottom of a massive crime wave spreading across Academy City.

woot! been waiting a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG! time for this. Specially this time of dead end no release of ToAruVerse because Teh_Ping is out for the moment. This brings joy to my heart.

Finished reading and its really refreshing! I like the story when touma and accel stand side by side talking like that. its kinda new and cool in a way. And I can't wait for a judgement action.

About the omake.......... I know I'm sure you probably decide this after reading the vol 10 and on what happen to Aisa. Its really touching and cute but ............ I tell you its not touma................ his blunt but his not that type of guy to say that even if his super dense. Its just doesn't feel right.

I'll wait till june for the update.

That's true, Touma isn't right.

To be honest, I wrote it in about twenty minutes and was going for more... touching than accurate.

It came about because I had completely forgotten about Aisa in the first two chapters and I had no reason to include her in the third.
I felt bad about that. And then I read that part of Vol 10 and felt even worse.

Mah, since it's gonna be a long wait till the next season/volume of Index/Railgun, I've decided to try my hand back in this business. It's abit long for a first chapter, but with your help, hopefully I can brush up my skill and at the very least prevent the Characters' personality from being different.

I've just finished it and it's awesome as ever.

I find it more relaxing to read than index. Because when they are in pinch the author didn't give time to do joke. But when touma is in pinch here. He even remembered that if style finds it out he would be burn crisp

I love the whole story. It's a big OK!!! though what's with the naming sense of the chapter? I just don't get it.

And it's also fun to read because it's refreshing when touma's been taking down ghost instead of magicians.

I'm glad you've asked, originally I wanted to look for a song title with 'butterfly' in it, but after searching for a long time, I've decided to settle for something that isn't too obvious. Charaxes Brutus is the Scientific name for a specie of butterflies.

I have suggestion for you To aru fanfic writer out there.How about make To aru majutsu no Index fic where what if Touma and Misaka were childhood sweeheart/friend and if you can make touma and Misaka aleady become couple at beginning of the story.Also this fic also has Railgun side story as well.Hope consider my suggestion!

Spoiler for Broken Dreams Prologue: Silence, Shirai Kuroko reminded herself. You're supposed to be patient now, Kuroko. She crouched low behind a box and relaxed, letting her senses project into the darkness. Distantly she could hear the low hum of fans. Moving slowly to maintain silence, she removed her communicator from around her ear and tugged on the small roll-up touchscreen held within, yanking it free. With swift fingers she relayed a short message back to headquarters. I hear computers. After placing the communicator back on her ear Uiharu Kazari, her close friend and partner at Judgment, replied. "That should be where he is." Urgency was audible in her usually soft voice. "Down the hallway to your right there should be two windows that overlook the laboratory." Reflexively, Kuroko nodded. Carefully she made her way down the hallway. The window Uiharu mentioned was low enough for her to reach and small enough to ease her worries of being spotted. Letting a bit of her tension escape through a breath, she stood up and looked out the window. The laboratory was the centerpiece of one of the earliest esper research facilities, dating back to the early days of Academy City's existence. Most of the equipment was dated, huge now obsolete cables criss crossing the ceiling like a drunken spider's web, and a series of computers the size of family sedans marking out the room's perimeter. All of these framing a round bank of machines in the center of the room, the presumed goal of her target. Kuroko could see a faint glow coming from the console monitors, but couldn't see the target from her position. Still, it was a safe bet that he was somewhere down there. No one had been in the facility for years. No one would turn these computers on just to spite the power grid. Now she just needed a better vantage point. Only one set of double doors led out of the room, and they were left open. Exquisite, she thought. No matter how fast he is, I should be able to block his path of escape. This room is quite spacious anyway. She sent another message back. How wide is the hallway just outside the laboratory? "About two meters across." Kuroko bit her fingernail. Wide enough at this distance, she thought. The height is the only problem. Gauging the distance one last time, she jumped out the window. In the span of a second the world fell out from under her, like someone had pulled the rug out from under it. The momentary feeling of weightlessness sent a thrill through her. Teleportation had always felt like a grey area between life and death. Without the ground under her, she couldn't really be sure that she existed. Then as suddenly as it left, the world was back around her, and with a cat-like grace she landed next to the open doorway she had just been spying, still safely out of sight. Pressing her back up against the wall, she let out another sigh of relief. She had misjudged the height by a few inches and for all her agility couldn't make the landing completely silent, but with the low noise of the computers should have drowned out the impact of her shoes on the floor. She edged over to the doorway and peeked through. Sure enough there was a solitary man standing in the middle of the computer bank, busily typing away at a computer console. He was tall and lanky, draped in a brown coat lined with what Kuroko thought was an unnecessary amount of pockets. He didn't look like the criminals she dealt with on a day to day basis. Then again, she thought, this isn't an everyday crime. She brightened up a little as she noticed the large headphones that covered his neatly trimmed head. Sure that he couldn't detect her presence she was content to watch him for a bit. His stiff posture never slackened as he continued to hammer away at the console. The only movement he made was a touch of his hand to his headphones, and a slight grunt of exasperation to himself. How boring, she thought. Kuroko's idle hands began to wander, scratching at places she didn't itch and massaging imaginary sores. Finally, refusing to wait any longer, she stepped into the open hallway and flashed the green armband pinned to her sleeve. "Stop,” she called, “this is Judgment!" The man turned towards her, startled. Clearly she had caught him off guard. He touched a finger to his headphones once again. A smile began to creep across his lips, first slow and then budding into a confident smirk. "Evening, Miss," he said. "What brings Judgment all the way out here?" "This area has been designated by Judgment and Anti Skill to be off limits. You're trespassing." The man sighed. "I'm under arrest then." He turned his back to her and held his hands up. "I understand." "You understand." Kuroko felt uneasy. From her experience, no one ever gave up this easily. "Remove your jacket, place it on the floor, and take ten steps back from it." He readily complied and stood silent, awaiting her next command. "Good. Don't move." She approached him cautiously, hands at the ready in case he tried anything. He only regarded her with a congenial smile as she bound his hands and began patting him down. She found nothing on him, save a single MP3 player and the headphones that had been sitting on his head. "Alright." She gave a quick glance back towards the doorway, then spoke into her communicator. "This is Shirai Kuroko. I've apprehended the suspect without incident. Uiharu, inform Anti Skill that we need a pickup." Uiharu acknowledged her request and Kuroko began to lead the man out of the room. She wished that he would just keep quiet and let her finish the job in silence, but he spoke up. "Shirai Kuroko." He said her name slowly, like he was trying hard to make sure he got it right. "I'll remember that name." Kuroko couldn't help but give him a righteous smirk. Men like him were always making empty threats when the hand of justice finally caught them. "Planning some sort of vengeance?" she asked. "No, not at all." He grinned. "I think it's important to remember the names of celebrities. After all, you're on the cusp of Level 5." Kuroko stopped in mid-stride. "How do you know--" Suddenly he ducked beneath her view, hefting her onto his shoulder in one quick motion and dropping her on her back. Kuroko cursed herself as she scrambled to her feet. She should have seen it coming. As she righted herself, he worked intensely, breaking free from his bonds using a small metal needle. In disbelief, Kuroko grasped for the spot under her skirt where she usually kept her private arsenal. The bastard had swiped it from her in the confusion. Kuroko bit back her anger and began to pace back and forth between him and the doorway. He made no move to get past her, only watching carefully from a safe distance. He was much smarter than he let on and she couldn't afford to let the fight go any longer than it needed to. She figured his ability let him see how strong people are, or maybe glance into the near future. A powerful ability, but she could attack from any possible location. Banking on that, she teleported into the air right behind him, launching a fierce dropkick towards the back of his head. Her attack never landed. In sync with her teleportation, he quickly spun around and grabbed her legs as they appeared out of the emptiness and, popping his hips, hurled her body into the ground. Kuroko coughed up some blood. "Sorry, Miss," he said. "I already finished my job a long time ago, but my curiosity got the better of me." He gave her a slight bow. "My mistake." Collecting his jacket and headphones, he began to explain to her how he had handily beat her. "A teleporter always attacks from the rear when she thinks the opponent isn't ready. A dropkick is a little too risky, don't you think? Well, Shirai-san. It was fun, but I hope I never see you again." With that, he began to sprint for the door. Just as he reached the doorway, his right foot froze in place and, losing his balance, his face crashed into the floor. Kuroko watched him cough and blink, raising his head to see what the hell had hit him. Lodged in his foot was once of Kuroko's metal needles. Teleporting once more, she was right on top of him, straddling his chest. The easy confidence he had shoved down her throat before was completely gone. He saw the look in her face, and was terrified. She wasn't cautious anymore. Slowly she raised a fist and, let it hover in the air, drawing out the suspense. Satisfied that she had found the right moment, she hammered it into his face. Not content, she gave him another. Then, another.
