I recently watched the original version of the fight between Dommel's fleet and the Yamato and can't wait to see how it's going to look in the new version.

It suddenly acures to me that I really want to know what was said in the trailer for Chapter 6. There sounds like a lot of stuff is going on, but some details are lost to me since I do not understand he language. Particularly what Melda Dietz is saying..

Kind of occurs to me that if anyone's going to be enditing wikis on the show, it has to be people who've actually watched not only the original, but the movies too. I'm enjoying 2199 certainly, but there's always the feeling at the back of my head that what I'm seeing is a reference to this episode, or that movie. Kind of annoying really, like the Beemla sequence (someone helpfully pointed me to the Royal Jelly episode for that, to my amusement and horror).

Ah, yes, "Royal Bee Jelly", with its special ingredient. Star Blazers edited that bit out but it is a nasty detail. And Desler loooooooved the stuff, apparently. XD

I thought that might be the secret ingredient. It's one of the standard SF twists. ("How to Serve Man" anyone?) I was hoping perhaps there might be something more original. Thanks for the video link, macdawson.

I know its already half the year, but THIS SERIES CANT FINISH FAST ENOUGH!

On that note, it appears Melda has joined the crew. I wonder if she will share with Yamato the internal issues Gammilas is facing. Could be used to the Yamato's advantage.

Crazy theory about the crew members we see shooting. Innicialy i thought they might be remnants of Ito's group, trying to bust him out but since there is a guy wearing a Garmillan uniform, that seems to not be the case. My theory:

These torpedos fired by the FWG97 Dorshiira seem to be very powerful. They make the missiles fired by the cruisers look like firecrackers.

Chapter 6 Trailer - Subbed version

The subtitles were made from direct dialogue translation by fellow fan "Hoshi Ban" and english text revision by me. There may be some errors here and there but overall i think it's sound. Feel free to pitch in any corrections.

What's interesting about the preview, is that the two Iscander sisters seem to be up and about, but I'm assuming that's actually YUKI with Dessler isn't it?

For those of you that don't remember the original episode, Spoiler for Refresher for watchers of the original: The original fight had Dommel sending fighter to lure the Cosmo Tigers away from the Yamato. While they were occupied against the initial fighter assault, Dommel used the Instant Matter Transporter to transport dive and torpedo bombers to attack and severely damage the Yamato. Dommel also uses the device to transport the bomber carrying to drill missile directly in front of the Yamato at point-blank range to launch the missile

My theory: Spoiler for infiltrators theory: they're with that girl we've seen with the garmillan gun and translator device and they infiltrated the Yamato (as for the how, i haven't got a clue, maybe in the prison planet...) with the purpose of capturing Yurisha and taking her to Desler. They know she's onboard from Mirenel's report, though they don't know the whole coma thing which, given Yurisha seems to be awake now, isn't relevant. Given Yuki's resemblance to Yurisha and the fact they seem to be discovered at some point, they end up kidnaping the wrong girl. Desler will not be happy when he finds out. It could be Ito's men, taking Yuki as leverage to get off the ship, but that wouldn't explain the guy with the garmillan uniform or that girl we've seen. Let the conjecture begin.
