The novel serves as a prequel of Ledo's life, history, and associates in the Galactic Alliance, we could use this thread for the light novel readers to share spoilers, summaries and events regarding
1) Ledo's character/ personality,
2) his social relationships pre-Gargantia(if any), and his Alliance buddies(based on the link scans)
3) Galactic Alliance society and culture insights not already mentioned in the series
4) any changes/growth in Ledo's personality throughout the novel

This would undoubtedly help enrich anime-only viewers' knowledge of the Gargantia universe and bridge the anime's narrative gaps regarding Ledo's past.
(since the novel will likely never be translated

If I'm reading the LN link above right as soon as they are born babies are separated from their parents to be placed in simulators. Probably what we saw in ep one.

The kid in Ledo's flashback is not his clone but his twin brother.

It also mentions Alliance society is like what is described in the Destiny Plan of Seed.

If you watched Gundam Seed Destiny then you'll think Gilbert Durandal's Destiny Plan for a utopia is stupid. As it is a Social Darwinist Communism.

Well the google translation mentioned twins. Note Ledo and his brother is in the same class.

Being twins doesn't mean they are identical. There is such a thing as fraternal twins.
