(Well I do since it's amusing how they're so against the moe-traditions that we've come to know, but it still doesn't change anything...)

And I think we have a plethora of interesting HS boys like Karasawa, Hidenori, Yoshitake, School Council Prez, Saviour... etc. They're amusing to watch even without the girls around imo.

Well I dropped this after watching the first sketch because I didn't think it was that funny but I picked it up again and I'm glad I did because it's actually freaking hilarious. I don't mind girls being involved now but any more emasculation scenes like Habara and his sister's friends and I might. But honestly it's a welcome change to see girls not always get away with such behaviour.

Minami-ke S1 was at its best when exploring the dysfunctions of both males and females.
What I mean by bringing Minami-ke is that I don't mind a little focus outside the main trio. And to me the message is not "Boys are less interesting than girls." It is more, "One enhance/spice up the other." Ringo-chan would not be as interesting without the Student Council Prez trolling her, Litterature Girl would not be the same without a boy, and we would not have gotten that kind of "depth" (right word?) from Habara without Toshiyuki.

What was Gundam AGE's Romary Stone doing in this episodes first segment and when did she get to be so angry and bitter.
Also this show seems to be mocking other shows like it again with the completely worthless censors of copyrighted games. I especially liked The Legend ** Kage, where they censor the most common word in the title only. |

You know ... even though ep 6 was not as funny in the sense in the same "method/manner of presentation" as previous eps, I must admit that near the end of the ep when the girl with the missing dog walked into the student council room I was laughing heartily.
7.5/10 vote from me for ep 6.

Liked how the money thing backfired on them in the screen transition wipe. Now instead of people hearing about the student counsel being a Help/Service center, they confirmed it by charging money for such services.

For me what matters is that you can have a successful "high school girl" anime without featuring boys in any significant capacity (Azumanga, Lucky Star, etc) but then the equivalent "high school boys" anime consists largely of boys reacting to girls as neighbors, rivals, siblings, etc. Basically the message is that girls can stand on their own, but boys need to be "enhanced," as someone put it.
I'm not saying it's not funny sometimes or interesting sometimes, but I wanted to watch a show about high school boys, not boys and girls.

Well, the first few episodes (which consisted largely of the chapters that were pre-released) pretty much was just the boys. Whether this is a general trend in the manga and the anime is just following along I don't know, but there's no denying there's been a major shift in focus away from the guys generally and the main trio specifically.
I'm very torn - I find the last few eps almost as funny as the first few - albeit in a different way - but I also think there's an implication that you can't have a good school slice-of-life about guys without either giving the girls most of the punchlines (Danshi Koukousei) or making the guys gender-neutral (KtB - sorry, Creb). And if anything, the first few eps of this show proved that isn't the case - although one needed only look a few years back to find other examples proving it.

That's the very wrong way to look at it. If you take out the girls, you're just saying that you're afraid that the girls would take over the popularity and attention from the guys. Giving up without even trying. But by creating an environment with both of them and show them side by side, you have an opportunity to prove that boys can be equal or more interesting to the girls, which is what this show does. In other words, rising to the challenge.

when its mainly guys and you introduce girls, its loladolescence and youth of men. I could agree they been too much girl screentime though. The first 3-4 episodes were great with focusing mainly on guys and the girls were sprinkled in as spice. Now it seems the girls has more screentime and the guys are just the background. Its the girls that are initiating the skits now more often, instead of vice versa.

think the fact that there's more screentime for the girls is that all those boys are just too buddy-buddy with each other, that there's no external conflict for something to happen. The girls represent something that's different and foreign, and dangerous at the same time.
in some way i see it as a subtle jab at the boy's attitude/mentality toward the opposite sex, and sometimes it's more interesting if the skits involving some sort of conflict. Who knows, maybe that's just the flavour of the month from the mangaka and it will revert back soon enough.

Though to be honest, I don't care if the skits involve girls or not. The main thing for me is that it better be funny

I still don't agree that adding so many girls to the series does anything but shore up the position that the boys can't be interesting on their own for more than a few episodes.
Come to think of it, what was the point of setting it in a boys' school if girls are going to barge in any time they like?
