I'm not a kind writer myself. I've hospitalized Keroko-chan on multiple ocasions, and concidering what I have in store for Vivio in her past life... Hoo boy.
Speaking of which, I've decided to get of my lazy seat and get writing again. I've been slacking of for far too long. As a start, I threw chapter 2 of LoAB: Fall of an Empire through the edits.

Chapter 02: Playing with politics
The Royal Palace, center of the Belkan Empire, its towers pointed high towards the sky. And at the moment, a field of battle.
Not a normal field of battle, oh no, many of the palace’s occupants knew how to handle a normal battle. This was a battle of a different kind, a battle where it does not matter how skilled you are with the sword, or how many enemies you have slain.
“This situation is unacceptable!”
This was a battle of words.
“According to your words, Lord Beckert.”
The council hall, possibly the biggest room in the palace itself. Surprisingly exotically decorated, and filled with one huge central table. Filling the table were politicians. Lords, ladies, senators, whichever ruled their respective territories. All were here in the council room to appeal their words the senate, and the king of Belka.
True, the Belkan Empire was an Empire, and as such the final say was made by the ruling person, but one person can only govern so much. The Belkan Empire stretched several worlds, which made the need for a bureaucracy apparent, though not any more liked.
“Do you not see?” A brown haired man with a short beard almost shouted through the great room. “We have finally taken the border country out of the hands of those wretched rebels. Many of our own have suffered severe financial difficulty thanks to that rebellious scum. The country should immediately start compensating us for our troubles.”
“But they had no choice; they were occupied by the enemy force. According to the reports their financial status is even worse then ours.” Another councilmember protested.
“They should be thankful that we even bothered to drive the rebels from their lands. I still say that we simply should have brought out the Cradle and-”
“That would be enough, Lord Beckert.”
All heads turned into the direction of the king, or rather the person next to the king. Long red hair flowing behind her, blue eyes piercing the lord in question.
“This talk on what could have been done is pointless. What has happened has happened, we have reclaimed a country that was taken away from us, that is all. To demand gratitude of them would be beyond stupidity.”
A different council member, a young long haired blonde man, decided to voice his opinion on the matter. “But lady Alistina, surely you agree that we cannot simply excuse them? From what I heard, they offered only little resistance against the rebel forces.”
“Would you do any different, councilor Torië, if your family was threatened to be killed on the spot? Regardless, to the people in that country, all that has happened is that they changed rule yet again. We must be sure to keep their loyalty, so that we have to station less forces to keep the place under control.”
Lord Beckert snorted. “If they have realized that their rule has changed, they should know that their laws have changed. That is all.”
“That would be like inviting the rebel forces back into the country. We need to gain their loyalty, Lord Beckert, not lose it.”
“And requesting compensation for rescuing them would do so?”
Lady Alistina shook her head. “Tell a conquered man he has a new master, and he'll shrug. Tell him his new master demands a fifth of his annual income, and he'll go and find his pitchfork.”
For a moment it seemed as if Lord Beckert would continue the argument, but to many of the room’s occupant’s surprise, he sat back down. Lord Beckert’s features changed little as he sat back down, save for a nigh undetectable twitch in his right eye.
A twitch that did not escape the king.
“Very well Lady Alistina, you have made your point. We shall give this country a while to catch its breath, and for us to gain their trust.”
The king’s decision was made, the debate was over. As it always went, the occupants in the room had been arguing back and forth for quite a while before the king finally made her decision.
Her decision.
One would expect a king to be a man, a proud man who would lead his people through the light and dark days that their lands faced. Who would take up the sword and smash any evil that opposed him and his subjects.
Perhaps that is why she was called a king.
The Belkan Empire was lead by a king, as it had always been. The Saint King of Belka. The royal blood of the empire. The current king had all the qualities of her predecessors, and also had a beautiful face. And until recently the Empire had flourished under her rule as it had always.
Therefore no one questioned the king’s gender.

Later that evening, the king and Lady Alistina were waking through the corridors of the grand palace.
“You played a dangerous game today, Alistina.”
Alistina sighed. “These are politics, Vivio. Every word you speak is a dangerous game.”
The king sighed. “How often must I tell you that I do not wish to be called by that name?”
“Why not? I’ve been calling you that since forever. Besides, it’s your name, isn’t it? Saint king Vivio Sakura Zaki, king of the Belkan Empire.” Alistina said dramatically.
“It is a child’s name, at least call me Sakura.”
“Never.” Alistina replied with a grin.
‘Vivio’ surpressed a frustrated cry, and decided to shift the subject. “Back to the matter of the council, you were taunting them the entire time, what will you do if Lord Beckert decides to retaliate?”
“You’re worried about Beckert? He’s the least of our worries. He’s a warrior through and through, strong and opposing, and he obviously knew when to back down, but he lacks the skill with words. He can do little more then bark in the council hall. No, I’m far more worried about Torië.”
“Councilor Torië? I do not see why you are worried about him; he has been quite helpful these last few weeks.”
Alistina shook her head. “Vivio, you are a great knights, and a great leader, but you are just as bad as Beckert when it comes to politics.”
“What do you mean?” Vivio asked, slightly upset at her skills being put down like that.
“Not counting me, Torië is one of the youngest members of the council. He holds no prestigious lineage, and he has no title to speak off. For someone like him to have reached a post as important like this at such an age means that he knows every trick, every flaw, and every exploit in the world of politics. Someone like him would literally go over corpses to gain more power.” Alistina explained.
“Alistina, you do realize that that is a very serious accusation?” Vivio queried.
“But a very accurate one.” Alistina responded. “You noticed what he said in the council hall today? It sounded very polite, but it was actually him probing how far he could push things around in a serious situation.”
“I see…” Vivio responded thoughtfully. “So how do you suggest we handle him?”
“Dump a potato sack over his head, tie him up and kick him into the deepest hole we can find.”
Vivio jerked to a halt and turned to observe the red haired girl’s face with incredulous eyes. To her credit, Alistina actually managed to keep her face straight for a few seconds before she broke down in a laughing fit.
“Oh this is great. You should have seen the incredulous look on your face.”
Vivio’s eyes settled in a glare as she placed her hands on her hips. “This is a serious matter Alistina, it is not something to joke around with.”
“Duty, duty, duty. Relax, we’re not in the council hall anymore. Besides, there is nothing we can do about him at the moment.”
Vivio tried to keep the glare on her face, but soon she sighed and let her hands slump to her side. “At times like I find it very hard to believe we actually share the same genes.”
Alistina grinned. “Genes don’t make the person. Now come on, let’s go get some rest. Some of my brothers should be returning tomorrow, and I doubt they will be the bringers of good news.”
Don't forget the fact that we're now full steam ahead into the time of the year for finals. I haven't the time to really do anything lately but course work.

I remember that I felt that the one-shot I did in response to Ghazghkull's and Nightengale's sadistic kill'em all could've been more developed... so I decided to give it a bit more thought...
Spoiler for 2nd part of that follow-up.:
The conspirators of this failing coup shouted in fury. The appearance of Carim had given the then desperate members of the Liberation Front complete shock and frustration. Not only was the ploy to use the Balka territory as a bargaining chip failed, she fabricated how that the junta eliminated the greatest aces of the Bureau, calling her former allies as mere Quislings, and completely denying their righteous attempt to save the TSA.
“That damned Carim. The hypocrite comes out of nowhere and tosses the good of the Bureau to the dump!” The men shouted as they were aware that no retribution was possible against her.
The enemy happened to be no other than the supposedly dead Lindy Halloun! Not only did she somehow survived, she also managed to eliminate the home fleet, stripping the only mobile power that the TSAB had in space, leaving the Liberation Front isolated to only Central Midchilda, and sank the invincible Cradle in the process.
“Who knew that Lindy is capable of using such low handed trickery? Now Carim is promoting herself at our expense! Why would she slender us like that!”
“Because it is true.”
There was sudden hush within the briefing room where everything was starting to fall apart.
“What did you say…” One of these men spoke out.
“Lindy Halloun and her ally are something! They have it dead on! This coup was not only caused by the remnants of Legius and Scaglietti, it also made scapegoat out of Fate Testarossa Halloun, and you were all used.”
“You are saying that we were all just singing the Swan Song for Scaglietti?” The voice that was raised was coarse.
“Exactly. You all performed magnificently at this!”
This tormenting jest haunted the entire room. The hearts of every single officer in that room were bleeding. Someone choked a sob at this moment.
“Look at this! Here lays my plan to avenge the late General!”
A small booklet was tossed out of Auris’s hand, as the men furiously flipped through the pages of that report.
Purging the Lost Logia Investigation Department, go on and incite rebellion over peripheral phanets… all of this was out in the open.
Just then, one of the guards opened fire on Auris, eliminating her and promptly committed suicide, but not before he reported that Admiral Lindy had instructed Colonel Yagami to land.
“Take that body away! After that, surrender to Halloun…” After that, turn the relay circuits on! I want you to contact the Admiral!”
“Admiral!”
And suddenly, a flash appeared in the room. Admiral Marino, the man at the forefront of this movement, committed suicide.
To the surprise of the entire board room, as contact was made, what appeared before them was a civilian sitting adjacent to Admiral Lindy, while the Admiral’s subordinates and allies were flanking the two. Standing right next to the two in the center were Admiral Chrono Halloun, Colonel Yagami and two unknown individuals.
I am Colonel Azil, the interim head of Liberation Front. Stop your attack! We know that we have failed and will cease our fruitless struggle.
“That’s fine and all, but where is Admiral Marino?”
“The Admiral died honorably!”
The lady next to Lindy shook her head in disgust as Lindy digested this information.
“Admiral Halloun! We set out to right the corruption within the Bureau for the good of every citizen of the TSAB, and to rid the universe of whatever that may threaten us! It is regrettable that this dream will never see the light of day! Admiral! Is your Excellency set out to help the smugglers?”
The lady aside from Lindy stood up.
“Well then, define dictatorship! Is it not the idea of suppressing the general population by the means of military threat and the sense of fear? Everything that has been done thus far have been nothing but proofs of a Junta!”
“…”
“Colonel, patriotism in name and dictatorship in truth is it not?” The lady softened her tone, yet reserved nothing in her words.
“…you’re mistaken! We never sought power, and that it was merely a necessity to rid the Bureau of its corrupted branches!”
A mere necessity… Lindy muttered.
“Any excuse can be used to legitimize your actions. Have you considered how much was sacrificed for your convenience? Well then, let me ask you of this, Colonel. The Time-Space Administration Bureau had been unable to truly stop the Lost Logia affair throughout all of its existence, and might well continue this trend. Are you out to make your own citizens all the more miserable by shredding their rights and do things at your convenience?”
The man had no defense, and he resorted to a change of topic. “Who are you to even say such things?”
Lindy spoke up at that moment, while holding the hand of that woman.
“Allow me to introduce you to Takamachi Momoko, the interim Joint Expeditionary Fleet Commander of the non-administered world 97. She is the mother of the late Takamachi Nanoha.”
With a painful lull in the air, the man opened his mouth once more.
“The corrupted nature of the Bureau goes without saying. Is there better mean to right this wrong?”
Lindy clenched her teeth as Momoko placed her left hand on the hand that Lindy used to hold onto Momoko. She then replied.
“Corruption that involves incompetence, bribery and misuse of authority are just personal fallings. True political corruption is where there to be no voice that can speak out against such acts. You have banned free press, stripped the power of the police and any political safeguard that exists. Therefore, for having done such things, can any of you honestly criticize the Bureau of corruption?”
“We swear our life and honor to our cause…” The man sounded rather defiant.
“Well then, we’ll let the court of public opinion to decide on that!” One of the two unidentified individuals shouted this out.
“What… we… “ Azil was dumbstruck.
“Note that all of this is being broadcasted to every single man, woman and child on this planet, Colonel Azil.” The woman with indigo hair calmly replied.
Just then, a report broke out in the ground HQ where the conspirators were cuddled together.
“108th Army Battalion has seized control of the surrounding area! It came out of nowhere!” An announcement was heard while a flurry of orders could be heard in the background.
“We… we followed through with the intent of the greater good to the people! We will not be slandered on this point! We did not betray justice, and that we only failed due to our incompetence and our poor luck!”
“Lightning squad, Star Squad! Now’s the time to strike!” Hayate announced while Azil was about to end his life.
Just as Azil took out his gun, a deafening explosion was heard as Subaru, Tiana, Elio and Kyaro appeared before the coup leaders from seemingly nowhere.
“Thinking of taking the easy way out? I told you… you will all be judged by the court of public opinion, Colonel. ”
The blond with shoulder-length hair had a gaze that pierced across the monitor and aimed straight at Azil.
“Suzuka, is that list ready? Get your pen ready, everyone.”
Momoko, Lindy, Leti, Carim, Hayate, Yuuno and Chrono were stunned all of a sudden, as Suzuka opened an interface.
“The following is a list of all those that were responsible for the secret military tribunal against the late Fate Testarossa Halloun… Private second class Lazzil Konev…”

Tia ignored the sound of her door being opened and concentrated on the monitor in front of herself as she typed. Subaru called out her entrance with a cheerful voice while padding around the room as the other girl finished her work. No sooner than did the save button be pressed than did Tia find arms suddenly around her shoulders and hot breath in her ear. "I said, 'I'm home'." Subaru whispered to her softly while leaning closer on her roommate.
"I heard," Tia protested the intimate motion and tried to pull away from it only to have the arms pull her back more. "...Subaru." Her voice came out a little weaker than she had meant for it to. For some reason she found herself becoming more and more submissive to the blue haired girl's moves on her.
"You're supposed to say: 'Welcome back sweetheart'," The girl continued, lips starting to nibble on the top of the ear she was whispering in. "Go on, try it." While waiting for the reply her hands went up to slowly pull out the ribbons holding the red hair up.
Tia blushed harder, their relationship being several months old but only recently started to take a more mature turn. Although she was starting to get used to Subaru's seductions her cheeks still managed to become stained each and everytime the thought crossed her mind. "If I say it, will you leave me alone?" Trying to sound more firm, Tia was disapointed when her voice faltered at the end. She knew Subaru could tell she was giving in and was torn between kicking herself for not being as firm as she used to and just letting the other girl do what they both seemed to want now.
"No," Subaru answered and sucked on the top of her ear while allowing one hand to slide to Tia's chest to begin undoing the neck-tie there.
"Subaru!"
"Say it," She whispered again, licking the rim of the ear and starting on the buttons of the white undershirt. “I want to hear it.” The voice was getting huskier, hot breath lofting into her girlfriend's ear.
"...Welcome home, sweetheart." Tia leaned her head to the side and allowed Subaru to kiss and lick her earlobe and neck. "This is embarrassing..." She felt the buttons starting to undo one by one to expose her bra. “Nnghh....”
"Okay, I'll stop." Subaru pulled back all at once and took a step back.
Tia blinked in confusion at the sudden coldness at her back before turning around angrily. "Hey! Don't start what you're not going to finish!" Her eyebrows creased as she glared.
Subaru smiled evilly at her. "Are you requesting that I molest you?"
Tia's cheeks flushed scarlet and she physically recoiled in shock when she realized that she had just, indeed, demanded to be felt up. " Don't make me say weird things!" When Subaru didn't move she turned around and fumed. Moments ticked by slowly as Subaru very slowly moved forward again to nibble her earlobe. "...Don't stop this time, okay?" Her voice was softer now, placing her palm on the back of her girlfriend's hand that went back to her chest. “Be more gentle...”
"Mm," Subaru replied lightly. Her free hand placed a fingertip on the other girl's chin and slowly turned her head so she could kiss her fully. "I just," Another kiss before she spoke against her lips. "Felt a little weird since I haven't gotten an earful from you lately."
Tia's lips turned up to an amused smirk. "You suck at puns," She kissed Subaru again and purred when her shirt fell from her arms and onto the floor. "But this once, I'll forgive you." Strong arms looped around her body and the red head found herself being lifted out of her chair. Being carried like a princess, she looped her arms around Subaru's neck and closed her eyes. “How was your day?” As long as no one saw her being so submissive she didn't mind the change. When they were alone now she could open herself up completely, it just took a little encouragement first.
“Better now.” Subaru slowly placed her girlfriend onto her bed and crawled on top of her. Somehow her pants were already unzipped to reveal dark blue panties that matched her hair. “I thought about you today.”
“Obviously,” Tia replied simply, looking up into the eyes that were hungrily eating her body. “Tell me, what do you plan on doing now?” The wiggling at her hips made her realized that her friend was currently pulling down her skirt to toss over the side of the bed.
“Well....” Subaru's lips turned to a grin that would make even the Cheshire Cat proud. “First I thought we could...” Moving forward she starting whispering into Tia's ear. The girl's eyes widened slightly before growing even larger. A few seconds later she gasped out and shoved Subaru off of her. With a yelp Subaru found herself sitting up and watching Tia standing beside the bed pulling her skirt back on and zipping the side. “Tiaaaaaa! I was kidding!”
“Like hell you were.” Tia fumed at her, reaching down to grab her shirt. “You aren't going anywhere near me with those ideas.”
“It was a joke! I promise! Really!” Subaru crawled over the bed and grabbed Tia from behind, wrapping her arms around her waist. “Tia-Tia!”
“Mou.” Her ear was starting to be nibbled on again and her resolve crashed almost instantly. “Okay, okay...” A low giggle answered her at the same time as her skirt fell to the floor again. “I swear you're just like a guy sometimes.”
“C'mere baby!” Subaru lightly tossed her back on the bed and reclaimed her place on top. “Now... about what I said before....”
Tia yelped slightly as her neck was bit and sucked on. “Ngh...I said... mmmnn.... no....so-ahhhn-....fine, just this once!”
Subaru chuckled triumphantly and went to claim her prize.
