Some people have said it reminded them a little of Kiki's Delivery Service, but I would say that movie is a bit more ... well ... "action packed" in comparison. Kinda closer to the actual novels, perhaps?

I read the first chapter of the series (not the oneshot; also translated to Chapter 18 somewhere), and it's perfect with some tea and Satie's Gymnopedies.

It's almost like it isn't J.C. Staff.

But no, J.C. Staff is actually capable of doing top-tier backgrounds, but they don't use it all the time. From the shows I watched, Index/Railgun, Shana and Danmachi, among others, had awesome backgrounds.

But it's like the backgrounds in Flying Witch are at a different level.

This is without a doubt one of my most anticipated series in what is looking for me to be a strong Spring season. ^^

Heard "itoko" from the preview... can it truly be? Dove straight to the manga, and first chapter in the first few pages confirms that the two are cousin childhood friends (thank God I didn't have to go far

). Man it's been a while since this particular subtrope has arisen, and with JC Staff helming the animation, I can't help but be giddy about this show.
