I have watched that trailer waaaaay too many times already, tumblr went nuts over it so it's been all over my dashboard. Some of the users there did some digging and found that it's probably getting a US release (in addition to a French and Japanese one) but that currently it's scheduled to start August 2013, booo. Apparently there should be some more stuff up on the website in a few days though (and I really hope they go with the anime style for animating it, I've seen a few CGI pictures and it just doesn't have the same cuteness).

It's supposed to be an anime TV show AND a CGI movie.

Huh, do you happen to have a source for that? The opening posts said it was conceived as a CGI film but the website has it listed as a 26 episode, 2D project for the moment. I've known of American cartoons doing weird stuff like that before but that still sounds odd. And I can't seem to find that image anymore that has the August 2013 date on it, knew I should've bookmarked that. >.<

Couldn't find a link in english but here it is in french

Back in april, the CGI movie was announced at the annecy animation festival. At the time it was said a TV show was also in the works along with the CGI movie, but that was the only info given.

Then in june it was announced that the TV show would be 2D and done at Toei

Frankly I think it's the fact that the heroine isn't acting like a Japanese anime heroine/love interest.

The female heroine eyeing up the male love interest, and deciding based on the fact she liked him, she was going to pursue him without being turned into a frantic mess of a woman? And still being portrayed as cute while doing so? Allot of anime romance conventions irritate me, so this is a breath of fresh air. Especially since the male love interest is much the same.

The twist of course, is that they're in love with their opposite alteregos, and don't know who eachother is!

I've only watched this three and a half minute trailer tonight, and I'm really excited about this.

PV at 2:28; the Precure jump. You just had to Toei, didn't you? Apart from that I don't have much to say that others haven't already mentioned. Kaitou St Tail meets Precure meets Shugo Chara. A slightly more grown-up approach to relationships than we normally see in this kind of show, from what I can see. Haven't seen a decent romance in a mahou shoujo for ages and I'm a sucker for animated snow scenes so I'll keep an eye out for this. I'll even try and resurrect my very rusty French. Oh, and that song is very catchy.

I personally think it might not be so much of a matter of it being more grown up, so much as it being a more French kind of narrative.

The song first got me interested in this series and then the rest of the PV with its unique drawing and cute plot hooked me. Will watch this if we get a sub - hoping we do. Anyone know the name of the song?

Seems they pulled the anime off their official site...

Live action, manga, and 52 episode CG show have been added though.

THAT is interesting. And Toei Animation is still listed as being in part of the production.

I'm torn. While I'd like to see an anime-style French series, I have to admit this is damned nice looking:

So they canned a really nice 2D-animated production... and replaced it with that.
Wow, I didn't even know about this series until today, but now I'm fucking livid.

Perhaps there might be scope for a 2D production at some future point, if the franchise proves to be as popular as its producers seem to imagine it will be.
