Mysterious Girlfriend X 76 : The Mysterious White Day
Well, at least it wasn't another "fetish of the month" chapter, but it did nothing to improve or advance Urabe and Tsubaki's relationship.
This series really is going nowhere. I don't think the mangaka realizes that, to milk this for all it's worth and become another long-running romance series, such as the likes of Ah! My Goddess!, interesting things have to happen. Nothing really interesting seems to happen anymore. |

Well, I'm far behind you guys. I'm reading the raws for practice and it will take some time to catch up.
Aside from the multiple symbols of mystery associated with Urabe, I was struck by four things so far: 1) The relative absence of cell phones 2) Tsubaki's fantastic dreams. 3) That so far I haven't seen Urabe's parents, and 4) How much Urabe reminds me of a girl I knew in high school. (Not my girl friend, but a friend who was a girl). Well, at least Tsubaki's gotten farther than Ranma... |

It was so bad that it's not really worth the effort to complain about it. But I will, anyways.
It was so bad that it didn't make me smile once, or laugh, not even a single chuckle. I did, however, facepalm several times. Does anyone here even enjoy this series anymore??? |

Actually I thought it was one of the more realistic chapters in the manga. Having teenage boys become distracted by a well-endowed pitcheress is much more likely to happen then nobody in a packed stadium noticing when a high schooler replaces an idol or two girls blindfolding a guy so they can stand naked in a classroom. Then comes the batting powerup through drool, but that's the conceit of the story (willing suspension of disbelief).
I agree that it is time for some progress. Without losing her quirkiness Uribe can come to recognize his feelings and needs. A Christmas kiss would be nice. See what direct application of drool does to his body. Sister needs a boyfriend to change homelife. The other couple needs some milestones to compare the MCs to. |

At this point, there's no closure on anything. Little miss flirt is still flirting it up with Tsubaki, and both he and Urabe look like they've made no progress with their relationship. Yes we understand that their bond transcends to something spiritual too, but there has to be more physical stuff too, and we don't mean just skip straight to the main goal, just a hug or a kiss or something.

Yeah,
I also get a sense that there is something mysterious about Urabe's family. I mean, the family name implies some sort of clairvoyance. That could explain her reluctance to get too close a lot and open up some new interesting arcs. Also, what's with Tsubaki's fantastic dreams? Why does his father look old enough to be his grandfather and why is away from home so long? I mean, I think Ueshiba has spent enough time laying a foundation and its time to start building the house. It's not like he's Rumiko Takahashi, you know. XD I hope things get moving. I really like the drawing style and this seemed to be off to such a good start. Maybe I should try Discommunication. Trade a mysterious girl with scissors for a mysterious girl with matches XD |

Ok you see? THAT raw I enjoyed, forget the school, forget Oka, forget the harpy, although I was a bit pissed that Ueno was there because I hate him too, just more chapters with those 2 and their family.

Thanks GrimJack
I'm waaay behind XD Edit: Finally, I caught up. I may be wrong, but I think Suwano is no longer interested in Tsubaki, but enjoys manipulating him and Urabe. Summer rains can do wonderful things. Maybe the one in Ch 78 will sprout a new arc. ^_^ Last edited by Pat123; 2013-07-15 at 23:29. Reason: Caught up |
