OK as the title saids I am looking for a cool male lead that falls in love or some girl is in love with him and he is totally playing hard to get...that sort of anime!
I don't have any similar anime to give you as a good example so just hit me with all you got!

My best suggestion would be:
Ghost Hunt - Naru's the king of 'hard to get'

The obvious titles include...
Hana Yori Dango - I'd be surprised if you haven't heard of the most popular shoujo manga AFAIK
Fruits Basket - Another popular shoujo series, in which Kyo falls under the character type you're probably looking for

This season also has...
Itazura no Kiss - is probably the origin of such a plot in terms of anime/manga

I second Itazura no Kiss

Also Nodame Cantabile - in a way, but Chiaki was more interested in music than girls anyway

Kaze no Stigma - Kazuma isn't exactly playing hard to get but its clear that the girl likes him yet he constantly teases and acts a bit like a jerk around her

Paradise Kiss - George has a rather aloof 'don't care' attitude most of the time

err.. kaze no stigma? it fits what youre saying.. a lot of people did like this anime a lot, even though i cant say i did too much. it is a worthwhile watch though.

i say "DN angel" a character cant get much kooler then dark mousy hes smooth
and has kool black wings so check it out

Rosario + Vampire: Aono Tsukune. Only in the manga though, his vampiric bad assness is unrivaled GARness in my book.

I dunno if you're into bloodshed, but I think Samurai Deeper Kyo fits. Cool hard-to-get male lead. He's all of it. <3 Check it.

I'd like to hear more shows like that too lol
