Indeed slice of life ep give next ep another character intro but in spooky house horror!!!

Sengoku (Present) 15 - Grim Grinning Ghosts

I always like it when VAs who have had only one role suddenly gain one more. In this case, Sumire Uesaka (Sora in PapaKiki) took the starring role as Yoshiaki this week. The first half was a traditional haunted house story, and I thought it nailed the atmosphere pretty well. The sparse animation worked to the show's advantage this time, creating a place filled with little, in an unsettling way. What I wasn't expecting was for the threads of the universe to continue to be linked, with Masamune playing a fairly major role this week, still on the run from Nobunaga after her story back in episode four.

Sad for Yoshiaki to only have a moment with her, and then act like she was never there, but I get the feeling this plotline is far from over, especially with Yoshiteru being the lead next week. This is a great way to do an anthology series. This show's format is one of the more unique ones, compared to nearly every other show being produced now, and I'm glad to be watching it. The early episodes are starting to show some payoff.

Spoiler for Episode 15:

The episode introduces Masamune's friend named Yoshiaki Mogami. Along with her newfound friends Yumi and Maho, they visit together at haunted house, but unfortunately get involved in ghost stories. One night, Masamune mysteriously saves Yoshiaki but stays for a short amount of time after their separation. Next episode will involve three girls (Yoshiteru Ashikaga, Muneyoshi Yagyu and Rikyu Sen) that are already shown in some early (Bokuden and Hideyoshi to be precise) episodes.

happy to have seen Masamune and it's no surprise, all the better in the coming episodes will review the first characters (Kenshin ... I hope!)

It's only been about a week since the show changed its songs, but I find myself listening to "back into my world" more than I expected. It's got a really great melody going for it, conveying what the show is going for - a city full of stories. Maybe it's the jazzy melody, or the prominent piano, but it's what I'm looking for in an opening theme.

Other than that, the last two episodes weren't so interesting... also new OP/ED seem somewhat inferior

mogami all adjust on modern world & have pals.
then pals idea go play haunted house give mogami going yikes.
see wanted pic of date give mogami is date's auntie & had history.
enter haunted house from room mummy to torture room.
oh dinner time shake the table, see if spooks, blood shower, etc
seeing pals might have hidden bring in mogami's BFG cannon.
oh it date just passed out then give date some food.
mogami want to help give connection to someone.
but date keep it quiet & silent gut tap to keep her safe as date run.
mogami fire BFG fireworks see pals ok & nap with her female pals.

next ep oh bring back characters that was seen in ep.5 aka Yoshiteru Ashikaga

The Maeda episode appear the guy from the first episode just for few seconds and the Sensei from the Houjo Soun arc, so various character are living in the same city and are so relactive

Spoiler for Episode 16:

Yoshiteru Ashikaga and Muneyoshi Yagyu interacts each other in a love/hate relationship and they are always followed by their servant named Rikyu Sen. Suddenly, Nobunaga proposes Yoshiteru and Muneyoshi to play a cake variant of Russian Roulette, which they are allergic of eating anything "sweety". In addition to some references connected to te plot in this episode, I really enjoyed it even though I didn't care seriously in the first minutes. Next episode will focuse on Liu Bei, a young florist who's also introduced as a first foreign warlord in the series.

Sengoku (Present) 16 - Let Them Eat Cake

This was a fairly novel episode, with everything taking place in one room, and nearly in real time at that. You can make eating cake dramatic, as long as the stakes are high enough. The relationship these two had was pretty interesting - pranking each other, but because they loved each other. The miko trio just kind of popped up out of nowhere at the end, and the idea of Nobunaga simply going door to door to collect treasures is a fairly amusing image. Even if she lost, she still won. (Though with all her certainty that she would win, dramatically, it would be kind of a dud if she didn't get one of the hot cakes.) The stories are becoming a lot more intertwined now; good to see Nobunaga continuing her mission to gather the glowy orbs.

I haven't encountered a Ryuubi since Koihime Musou went off the air. Next week's incarnation of her is a lot less busty, for one.

so for once on this ep no new characters in it give focus on Yoshiteru Ashikaga & Yagyū Sekishūsai both seen in ep.5

let see Ashikaga want to spice Sekishusai cream puff due to history they got.
but instead ashikaga got spicy puff & burn yet manage spice drink on sekishusai.
go all or nothing cue saying treasure here come Nobunaga.
so make cake blind russian roulette for winner takes all treasure.
sekishusai confess feelings for ashikaga then bite cake & got burn.
so now nobunaga vs ashikaga cake battle with 3 pieces.
ashikaga also confess feelings for sekishusai then cake & ok.
while nobunaga got the Incident at Honnou-ji cake & burn.
then ashikaga decide give super hot tea cause want to stay with sekishusai.
nobunaga see all that ok then cue 3 miko cameo from no where get treasure.
yea at least both ashikaga & sekishusai are together.

next ep ta-da another new characters only 10eps to go.
