It's the prequel, where we start from the very first floor of Aincrad.

I don't think "Sound of Water, Sound of Hammer" will be included in Progressive 1.

Kawahara has already stated that the story of Progressive 1 is during Kirito's time in Floor 1 and 2. Based on the latest summary, Volume 1 will consist of 3 stories which already include "Aria in the Starless Night" and "Rondo of the Transient Sword".

In the timeline, there's one story that is between Aria and Rondo, which is "Continuation. Aria". I believe this story or the rewrite version of the story will be the second story preceeding Rondo.

It's kind of amusing that the layout of "Progressive" looks like it'll be chronological .. which is what the SAO anime went with and created all this heartburn and angst among some of the LN fans previously..

well, unlike SAO anime progressive won't have too much timeskips (if any). i'm actually looking forward to it more than the main series.

I actually read it in chrono order originally and I felt no angst at all over it being that way in the anime.

To be honest, there's really no need to be angst and such to begin with. Every media has its own method of story-telling.

Great I thought that Vol 1 was a new form of bullying T_T
I don't actually mind having it appear in chronological order, it really doesn't matter that much imo

To be honest I'm looking forward to Progressive. I just seriously hope Kawahara takes some of the criticisms he gets to heart and include more in terms of Kirito's development. As in more struggles and failures to actually give credibility to his near-omniscient abilities. xP

Edit: Whee~ BT has Vol. 10 Ch. 4 out. :3

Honestly, the next time I see anyone asking me for faster updates or ETAs, I'm just going to delay the translations...

Well, 100 more pages to go. I left part 2 somewhere on the B-T forums, but its still incomplete (10 pages of part 2 left, and you definitely won't be able to find it in the proper channels)

Take as long as it takes, I've enjoyed what was posted on B-T proper, and am looking forward to the rest of the book.

Thanks kindly for the translation work, very appreciated ^^

Aw, you just take your time and do it at whatever pace you want to. The rest of us will work to develop a device to allow you to poke people in the eye via the internet.

I think the translation's going pretty damn quick personally.

Also, it's great that the main page shows what part is done, really helps me figure out at a glance if there's anything new to check up on.

I prefer to wait until it's done, to enjoy it all in one go.

That said, if you ever need a proofreader, I'm willing and able - my day job involves writing my departmental SOP for my company.

Why does this thread seem to be fading away not a lot of discussions lately.

That's because there is nothing interesting at the moment in the LN translation. It might be later on

Even I was surprised myself when I saw that. Does the author plan on putting ALL THAT into SAO: Progressive?
