Well, Thailand does have something different to Ukraine - a number of protesters go to the street for they are pro-Royal. In fact, recent surveys show that everyone is getting fed up with Suthep. Even if he won, his party won't use him. Kind of unlike Ukraine where they have common leaders and common idea.

Alleged MFA trespasser entered Singapore illegally on Jan 17

A little background, this mentally ill lady managed to drive through immigrations without checks by tailgating another car, alarm was raised too late and she managed to leave the checkpoint.
She stayed here for 2 days, tailgated a taxi for 2 hours, the driver was adviced to drive to police HQ for help, which he did. The officers helping did not reconise her car, despite the ongoing search for it and she got away again. She then managed to get into the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are by tailgating again and drove around inside for 10 minutes before the security managed to corner her.

Great job Home Team
Tailgaters are hard to catch. Checkpoint guards don't have a choice - either get run over, or write a repor on why he/she discharged a weapon at a car.

If it is a military base she would have received 200x 7.62x41mm. About time we send the Home Team our surplus MGs.

Because her getting killed by MG fire would have been the better outcome than what actually happened, where she just drove around and wasted a lot of gas?

Than driving around dangerously and causing panic.

Everybody is pro-royal (due to a certain law...), even the government supporters up north don't want to replace the monarchy, no matter what the opposition says.

We know this after the fact. Would it have been better if she was an actual troublemaker and park her car in front of the building?
My other though is that she wanted to get jailed but don't want to risk getting shot by Malaysian police. (They are... rather trigger happy...)

If the only way you can figure out how to stop a car is by making swiss cheese out of it with machine guns, then I'd say yes: those people better not get machine guns.

Those tyre-shredders don't work because she's tailgating. What other options?

Shredder both cars' tires.
Buy the guy in the first car some new tires on gov. money.

Unless this is a completely automated system, that should be possible. However if it is automated, then it does not matter if the men that are not there do have guns, right?

You forget inertia. You have to buy the person a new car too; plus at a checkpoint with so many cars, there is bound to be a pile up.

There is one novelty I have seen being used at checkpoints is that of a penumatic pop-up barrier, but that has to be installed into the road; and it also generates enough force to flip a car on turtleback; if not throw it backwards/forwards.

The first car was cleared to pass, unless the guard have the premonition that the next car is going to tailgate in instead of stop for check, I don't see how the shredder is going to help. I guess if the guard's reaction is fast he can press the button in time to shred the back wheels...

I'm not sure about that, I've seen those barriers come up fast and stop a car at speed before, I've just never seen it come up from below a car before...

My main thoughts are that the immigrations should have reacted faster, then we wouldn't have all these trouble. 2nd though is that maybe a clearance area before the main gate, but that would take up too much space...

I wonder if the MFA building was on lockdown during that period...

Clearly the solution is to make another auto pop-up barrier 100m away from the clearing line

It'll straight up lift the vehicle up if it was coasting - happened a few time at my sister's work, you'd be surprised at the things people can forget.

If the vehicle was traveling at speed when it gets hit from the bottom... it'll probably destroy the vehicle, either by ripping it or flipping it.

Anything smaller than a dumpster truck will be smashed into two.

Beats MG-ing the occupants of the vehicle.

If the sensors work properly, the barrier should go up the moment the vehicle jumps the checkpoint

Morocco amends controversial rape marriage law

This needed to be done a long time ago. Now lolicons wouldn't be able to rape a loli then marry her.

Sadly, this ''practice'' still do happen in too many other countries, like Pakistan.

There is still no law against rewarding parents for granting the liberty of marriage to their daughters.

Ukraine clashes turn deadly as four die
Quote:
Ukraine opposition leaders have given the government until Thursday to "make a step forward" or faces the consequences after talks failed to resolve a deepening political crisis.

Speaking Wednesday after at least four people were killed and hundreds more injured in clashes between demonstrators and police, boxer-turned-politician Vitali Klitschko told protesters he would lead them in an "attack" if their demands for snap elections were not met.
Some Orthodox priests move between the police and protestors.

Spies spy: CrowdStrike report says cyberspooks are EVERYWHERE:

"CrowdStrike has confirmed that governments across the world are spying on
everyone online with a new report on cyber-espionage.

A year-long study by the security intelligence firm has identified more than 50
groups of cyber threat actors, blaming groups in China, Iran, Russia, North Korea,
and Syria for high profile attacks.

Among the groups profiled in the report is a Russian group (dubbed Energetic
Bear) that collects intelligence on the energy industry.

CrowdStrike reckons that the groups it is tracking make up the majority of the
sophisticated threats attacking enterprises across the globe. Groups can be
distinguished by the differences in their tactics, techniques, and procedures, such
as the tools and infrastructure they use for attacks, their level of sophistication
and the working hours hackers put in to running attacks."
