Just like Otacon said. All the guys he fought they had all the advantages, but Snake has a back up, but still it's easier said than done what Otacon wants him to pull off against a certain enemy.

I think Snake will lose to Raiden now because he' s old and Raiden is one overpowered bastard.

What? Were odds never against Raiden? He took down 24 RAYS with a missile tube. He doesn't need a REX.

But it's such an underwhelming boss fight though. I mean, what is that?

Are those really Metal Gears? I guess weapon technology has improved over the years (to be specific: Raiden's missile launcher), but it misses the epic moment mark by a few levels. The best part of that scene is Snake chasing the Ray by swimming after it.

Wait a second here... was I the only one who saw Snake take down that horde of resistance group members only using CQC, whilst not firing a single bullet? Goddam, just the execution that he used was silky smooth.

But yeah the guy is just combat savy, I really think Kojima went to great limits to show how good of a soldier Snake is. The tactics that he uses and his thought process, to me seemed unmatched in all Metal Gear lore.

Bah. Raiden took down a horde of Gekko.

Without a railgun.

Well, he is a cyborg in the game. I would be disappointed if he isn't able to put off a good show. I actually like that scene more than his fight with Vamp. But without the proper equipment, he would been thrashed by those Gekkos in no time. Ninjas need their blades, and their arms to wield them after all...

...Which reminds me of something else I wanted to ask.

Spoiler for Raiden, epilogue:

Beyond his spiffy new ninja look, he gets major points for one of the most memorable lines in the game: "I am lightning, the rain transformed..."

Yeah Raiden in MGS4 is definitely better than he was in MGS2. He doesn't act all whiny anymore and the quote he said was a good line.

I enjoy playing online but the problem is for me is I don't like it when it's 5 minutes then switch to next round. This is a stealth action game so it should be long than 5 minutes.

Raiden is basically Japanese for "lightning" in the first place. So all these talk all about lighting and rain have a double meaning.

More specifically, "thunderbolt".

Yeah, I understood as much. Anyone know how the Japanese version of that line exactly goes?

Raiden and Snake have different origins. Raiden specializes on melee sword fights and had cyborg enhancements in MSG4.

Unlike Snake that relies on CQC, heavy military weapons, experience and his instincts to win.

Both have specialties for there own field of fighting in battle.

Yeah when I thought about it. I say Snake can beat Radien because Snake thinks about what the enemy weakness is and through different tactics he wins but right now I say Snake in his prime can beat Raiden but now he's too old so he's more slower and he might get sick while he's fighting.

Age doesn't matter as they say as long as someone can beat someone.

Raiden surpasses Fox. Snake's beaten Fox twice already, both hand to hand, but the first time, Fox fell on a landmine, and the second time, Fox chose to not use his sword while Snake could gun him down. Raiden, though more useful with a sword or scout knife, could still use a gun, and his hand to hand was better than Snake's even before his enhancements as you could see playing MGS2.

Snake could beat Raiden if it was before Raiden's enhancements and if he had a gun and decided to use CQC, but now, Raiden's pretty much a deciding factor in which Snake either lives or dies.

Snake's resourcefulness will always prevail. Since it did before and even now he's old and he's overwhelmed by enemies he still manages and as Otacon said it he's the SHIT!

Then what if he had no resources? Or if he could only carry one weapon?

Well... if anything, MGS4 proves that senior citizens can kick a whole lot of ass.

What if Raiden didn't get the enhancement and doesn't have his blade?

Either way as his name says it Snake. He'll fight dirty just to win.

Raiden still has his cartwheel of death. And his double-kick melee combo.
