yeah I gotta say...was a marvel to watch how Lucy magically floated atop the water without doing any swiming moves... wonder what helps her swim up

and the gildartz stuff was nicely done botht he fun part and the lets be serious moment.
lookin forward to next ep...

The human body can float surprisingly well, so it's not that odd.

After watching this and the previous episode, I searched the stores for Lucy-flavoured ice cream...much to my disappointment, it isn't out...yet.
Gildartz is epic, Erza is badass, and Mira's glare goes past hostility and straight into the realm of homicidal, gotta love ep #99!

I know I should have seen it coming, but I can't help but gawk over how pale the fat man in the OP (and ED) is.

Also, apparently there's a rumor on 2chan that veteran seiyu Hochu Otsuka, Toshio Furukawa, and Ryuzaburo Otomo will be given roles in this arc that weren't announced in that blog where all the other voices for new characters were.

Gildartz looked like a menacing demon when he was powering up. It just tells you how powerful he really is, possibly the strongest in earthland. Rarely do we see natsu scared in tears of one's power and aura.

Mirajane looks badass with that transformation, hoping to see more of that. Opening and ending was hell of a lot better than the previous.

I have a gut feeling that this mest guy is a spy of some dark guild.

It's a good thing Gildarts seems like a basically kind and sane person, because any power that can reduce Natsu to tears untouched would be too frightening in the hands of most of the nut jobs in this series.

Well, the whole point of it was to prevent Natsu from growing up into one of those nutjobs, right? I assume Makarov or someone else did the same for Gildarts when he was younger. You have to know weakness to be kind to the weak and all that.

I really like how the new character turned out in the anime. I wasn't particularly impressed with his design in the manga, but with his costume flowing in the wind, his voice and movements, it really came together perfectly imo. Really brought the character to life. I'm starting to like him a lot more now.

Although I could have sworn they made a preview like that before. Anyway like most people predicted Levy got quiet route. Juvia lost. Elfman won but by underhanded methods. I guess they don't have the budget for a proper Danmaku battle and Mirajane has infinite bombs anyway. Gray beat Wendy by exploiting her two greatest weaknesses. Tripping and pickled plums. But even still it was good to see her put up a good fight and it's good to see Gray putting thought into his fights. Judging by the rest of the episode Mest may or may not have pulled the fight though. Mest is really weird but it might be fake. Pantherlily and Carla came to watch. We knew they were coming but I had suspected that Makarov had recruited them to keep an eye on proceedings. The end of the episode introduces mystery boys mysterious knowledge of Natsu. The last time a mystery person appeared they were a dragon slayer but I can't remember if Wendy knew who Natsu was. __________________ MAL Profile

Even Lisanna doesn't know about him. Also seems like he threw in the fight on purpose. Lol how they beat Wendy. Never thought Elfman and Evergreen would get past Mira, that was hilarious how they accomplished it. As expected Juvia and Lisanna got dominated. Levy got the easy route to Gajeel's dismay. So the guy with the black hair made it to the island, or was he on the island the whole time? Even though he knows Natsu, seems like Natsu doesn't know him, maybe its another promise that he forgot to keep. __________________ My Anime List

Mirajane's reaction to Elfman and Evergreen's hypothetical lovechild. We can also tell that Juvia really wants to have kids... Spoiler for Episode 101 preview: The next episode's title is "The Black Wizard." There's only one figure in the whole series who's ever been called that... Looks like the next episode will partially feature Gajeel and Levy. It also looks like our arc's big bad will finally be stepping into the picture. __________________ I'm not the boss.
