It's also part of the tourism in Kanagawa and Tokyo. I think those posters can only be seen on the Nambu Line of JR West, which passes selected area in the two prefectures.

Also, "Welcome to Tachikawa". Tachikawa is one of the stops in the Nambu Line.

I don't think this has anything to do with the movie; they're just using the Index characters as part of an unrelated ad campaign.

Well this can be loosely referred to as being Index related, but I think it's good for us to consider the next time we ask for 2 cour Animes

ANN - Toaru Majutsu no Index Producer: "26-Episode Anime Costs 300 Million Yen"

The discussions in the forum have some interesting information as well.

I believe it's just referring to in general for all 2 cour series, not any in particular.

Still, the series is worth enough in sales terms and better to keep fresh the interest in the series.

I'm confused as to why someone said "300 million" is a "small number" then goes on to say "not getting enough revenue." I'm tempted to think they're confusing the cost of making an anime to revenue gained from the anime produced, and I'd like to think that the article is talking about the former. =/

Don't forget the simple-minded action formula the more explicit her powers are the more people gives credits to the character.

Sad truth, thats why I'm hoping someday Kamachi will rid off that convenient plot device from Index, I mean 103'000 lethal grimoires + angelic CW yet she is limited to SF and SI .

I have say to before, Index is limited because a full power index would have take a lot of enemies alone without any effort.

Mikoto is good and all because she haven't really fight a strong opponent that want her gone.

Mikoto has fought strong opponents that have tried to kill her. Where are you getting that she hasn't fought anyone strong before? Some of the things she's beaten would give Touma, even with his broken right arm, a run for his money.

Besides, Index states that she's pretty much a library. Nothing says she has the ability to use all that stuff at the bat of an eye. So we have no idea how strong or weak Index is, though from how things were shown Index is very weak and hasn't done much in the anime series, especially, to show that she's competent in fighting.

Conversely, so does Touma, Volume 22 et al. And the adversaries he faces do give Mikoto's a run for their money.

Regarding Index, she's more reliable as a support unit - that has to be protected from enemies. In most cases she's better spent in the intelligence department deciphering information from friendly spies than in the battlefield. But there's also the Johan's Pen (spelling?) mode enemies had to be wary of, should defense from allies fail - then again, I do remember that needs an external trigger and that she can't control it herself.

In terms of fighting; She just took out a large number of battle nuns, was able to hold her own against the ice golems at least long enough, and if I want to go into Novel territory she was able to accurately redirect magic artillery fire.

And this is without counting her Pendex mode.

In terms of plot and without going into spoilers passed the Anime, without her they wouldn't be able to free Last Order from the Virus. This is without even considering her usual expositions to help solve each incident- The whole daihaisensai was proof that without her things can get dragged ridiculously long. Of course people would habitually forget them.

Battle Nuns aren't really all that tough considering Touma punched a few of them out pretty easily... Though it makes sense that she would be good when dealing with those of the magic realm. However if we went with just the Anime she's far below Touma, Accelerator, and Mikoto in fighting prowess. Mostly because Index got so little screen time in a show that has her name in it.

There always are magical spells that boosts the physical tough.

Lets hipothetically asume she can use her magic at free... just from Vol.1, her magic aim to others weak spot, has long range high-class attack and a warping space defense, and there are more on her pocket, no wonder why there is so many defensive layers on her.

If she had that much power she would be some kind of magical Touma running out to help other while using hax powers .

Still, I hope to see the novel arc where Kamachi sets up the bar so high that her powers would be considered as equal to them.

Huh? Index gets a ton of screentime. Maybe not in NT, but overall she sill has a lot.

For her own series she didn't get all that much screen time considering the series is named after her. Compare her amount of screen time to Mikoto in Railgun, a huge difference.

Yes but just because she's the title character doesn't mean she's the main one. Touma is the main character in Index not her. However in Railgun Misaka is both the title character and the main character. Comparing the two doesn't really make sense.
